Let's use a simple analogy as many Bush supporters or Obama bashers might have an easier time comprehending something elementary.

You inherit a waterfront house, but alas, the house is in major disrepair, in fact, it is sliding off a cliff. There are also two mortgages on this house, but you must keep it afloat. You invest in repairs as to not lose the house and to once again give the house some equity. Common sense would dictate that although it is taking time and money to save this property, you cannot be blamed for being inefficient or irresponsible as you were given the house as is. While you are attempting to fix the neglect and abuse, you have a bunch of greedy and bought pigs obstructing your repair crew at every turn.

Obama is shoveling $hit against the tide when he attempts bipartisanship with the thugs on the right. They do not give a rat's butt for the average American people and if it were up to them, we could all go straight to hell.

Obama would not make a good water boy under Bush.

Bush inherited nothing but trouble from Clinton.

The surplus that was left over was wiped out with Clintons failure to read the signs which lead to 9-11.

Bush was a far better President then Obama will ever be no matter what anyone believes.

Obama will continue to drop as he makes one mistake after another and keeps on spending money we do not have on pork.

Of course this conveniently ignores the fact Bush didn't inherit a pile of crap like Obama did.
Dot com bubble bursting, recession, a plethora of terrorists attacks against the US that went unanswered for 8 years - he had plenty on his plate.

Err...Bush inherited a budget surplus, peace and prosperity. Who wouldn't approve?

Obama inherited the opposite of that. He inherited the clusterphuk of the century. Thank you W!!!

Just wait (on your comparison graph there), Bush's approval rating will skyrocket after 9/11 to something in the 90th percentile. And what will he do with that American unanimity - when even Liberals (egads!) supported OUR President at a time of crisis? Pi$$ it away on Iraq and end up being the worst President ever! I know how that story ends...

That's one of the differences between "Libs" and conservatives. Us Liberals supported our President when the country was in need. We hoped he (W) would rise to the occasion. We actually DID put country first.

Peace and prosperity??

I guess you might call it that after numerous attacks throughout the 90's that killed Americans went unanswered.

I guess if you ignore it, like Clinton did, you might claim that to be "peace".

Clinton's ineptitude and incompetence led DIRECTLY to 9/11.

Uh, open your eyes much? Bush utterly failed to answer terror attacks, he did NOTHING to avenge the USS Cole attack, which while happening under Clinton clearly left no time for investigation before his successor took office. Bush also cozied up to the mass-murder sponsoring government of Libya and failed miserably in his alleged pursuit of those responsible for 09/11, choosing instead to pursue a personal vendetta in planning long before 9/11 and undeterred by the tragedy of that horrid day.

He had plenty on his plate? Maybe. He had it pretty good compared to what he left behind.

If he DID have planty on his plate, he did nothing about it. The free markets will take care of the economy. His golf swing took care of national security. His pappy took care of putting together a Cabinet. What did Bush do? Clear brush on the ranch? He certainly didn't listen to his national security people.

And where is poll methodology and sample size/make-up described? Without that data it's meaningless.
Hey, Burdy have you ever tried to reason out that this healthcare bill has nothing at all to do with that inheritance you talk about? How about the horrendous stimulus bill that the Dems passed? Did they need to do something about that crisis that allowed them to pass the stimulus. It seems to me that they haven't spent much of the stimulus but want another one. Tonight I heard that 1700 prison inmates recently received stimulus checks. Why would that be? I haven't got a penny from them.

Which attacks specifically went unanswered?

Republicans Sabotaged Clinton's Anti-Terror Efforts
03-Aug-04
Clinton vs. Terrorism

Mike Hersh reports: "Feb. 1995, President Clinton introduced a counter-terrorism bill. This legislation would have expanded pre-trial detention of terror suspects, allowed more federal wiretaps and deportation of foreign criminals, allowed detention of aliens convicted of crimes, let the President criminalize fund-raising for terrorism, and revived visa denial provisions of the McCarran Walter Act. If in force before 9/11/01, we might have prevented the terrorist attack. Unfortunately, the Republicans stalled the anti-terrorism legislation for nearly a year and a half, despite Clinton's warnings, then watered-down key provisions. According to CNN: 'President Clinton urged Congress Tuesday to act swiftly in developing anti-terrorism legislation before its August [1996] recess. But while the president pushed for quick legislation, Republican lawmakers hardened their stance against ... anti-terrorism measures.' "
