They aren't whining about higher taxes, they are jubilant because they are getting tax cuts.
But, are they??? The tax on businesses will result in higher prices. Business will do one of two things, pass it on or close. They pass it on, it will cost your friend. They close, it could mean your friend loses a job. Or, pays higher property tax in some form for municipal services. Maybe higher insurance costs to make up the gap. Nothing is simple. It is all cause and effect.
