A wide-ranging Israeli military exercise in the eastern Mediterranean was likely aimed at warning both Iran and the U.S. about the possibility of a strike against Iranian nuclear facilities, a U.S. analyst said.
``It's very hard to think of any other enemies Israel has that would require such a massive use of forces or an attack waged at such a distance,'' said Michael O'Hanlon, a foreign- policy analyst at Washington's Brookings Institution.

Iran will NEVER have the bomb.
Israel will NOT allow it.
They will take out the facilities before they allow that to happen.
And make no mistake about it - Israel has the capability to do so.
#1. If Israel attacks Iran they better be sure they hit them hard enough so they don't get back up.
#2. If Israel attacks Iran they better not get in over their heads because the USA doesn't need to be involved in another dust-up in the Middle East right now, we should let them fight their own battles.

I don't think they will attack and if they do, it is questionable whether or not such an attack would be sucessful. Most of Iran's operations are deep underground. They learned from what happened to Iraq. While Israel has very superior air power, they do not have the manpower to invade Iran. If they tried, it would be a disaster. And it would probably take a massive invasion to destroy the program. Or a nuclear attack. And that would not go over well at all. If you think the world is a crappy place and gas is high now....wait.

That's a good thing. They cannot tolerate a nuclear Iran - and neither can we.
I can see the United States getting involved in this very soon; although no one wants it, I can just feel that this will not turn out well.
I think Iran may hear word of this.. and tensions will rise even higher. One is going to attack the other, and when it does, I can assure you the United States WILL BE INVOLVED. If Iran attacks Israel, Israel will BEG their 'strongest ally' to help them, or bice versa.

Sure we can. We tolerated a nuclear USSR for 50 years. And they were more of a threat. Iran knows that, if they ever used such a weapon, their country would end. And it would not be a good ending for them.
