Might be able to get them with that. Maybe. Then again maybe not.

That article in no way says the US equips anything.

They are doing what any other nation would do which is make their bomber fleet more flexible.

The bombers were made for delivering nuclear payloads, they have to be modded for newer conventional things.

Flexibility is a great assest to have.

The author and you are the only people who imply anything about an Iran attack.

FreeRepublic forum commenters definitely aren't terrifying or anything.

Yes, and we backed the Soviets to knock off Hitler, too.

Welcome to the real world, sonny.

Perhaps you'd like to join Ahmadinejad in that apology...

The Israelis know, though. Just as they knew with Iraq in 1991 and Syria last year.

It'll be quick, quiet, and effective. By the time our appeasers get ready to bleat, the news cycle will change.

And everyone -- everyone -- will breathe a sigh of relief.

Dang, with responses like that, you just seem like a fountain of knowledge.

As I said, perhaps the iranians that overthrew the Shah might just be angry at the US for backing a ruthless dictator. I imagine millions might have a grudge against someone who backed a person who killed innocent family members.

It was the west, France in paticular that allowed the Ayatolla to hide out as a refugee, it was Carter who urged the Ayatolla to return to Iran and it was Carter who refused to hand over the Shah when iran wanted him for prosecution in exchange for our hostages.

Perhaps if we stayed our nose out of everyone's business, things would not be coming boomeranging back around at us.

And if we hid under the bed, we'd only have to worry about dust bunnies.

We've tried appeasement and isolationism. It doesn't work.

Ok, my question is, if the IAEA said that they found no eveidence of Iran pursuing a nuke weapons program and they stated the same thing about Iraq and was found to be right, why in the hell do we, the US, continue to support the UN and the IAEA when we do not beleive a thing from them?

I, for one, would have no problem with the USA withdrawing our support for the UN.

But I think the issue here is Israel's potential strike against Iranian nuclear facilities, in the wake of their similar successful operations against Iraq and Syria.
