State Judge Juan Merchan said Trump is barred from attacking his family members and those of Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, in addition to the witnesses, prosecutors, court staff members and their relatives whom he was directed to "refrain" from talking about in a previous gag order issued last week.
Trump's "pattern of attacking family members of presiding jurists and attorneys assigned to his cases serves no legitimate purpose.
Let's stop right there. It serves no legitimate purpose.

Trump campaign spokesman Steven Cheung argued in a statement before the ruling Monday night that Merchan has a "clear conflict" because of his daughter and "should do the right thing and immediately recuse himself."

Merchan’s daughter has worked as president of Authentic Campaigns, a firm Vice President Kamala Harris used for digital fundraising and advertising during her presidential campaign. The firm describes itself as “a digital agency progressives can trust to get the job done right.”
Loren Merchan was an executive at progressive political consulting firm Authentic Campaigns, which worked on campaigns for various Democrat leaders including Vice President Harris, House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.) and President Biden — Trump’s main 2024 opponent.
In a social media post last week, the former president reacted to an account on X, formerly Twitter, that initially appeared to belong to the judge’s daughter and had a photo illustration of an imprisoned Trump as its profile picture.

With the money going to the judge's family from Democrats in Congress - it is understandable that this judge increased Trump's gag order so that he wouldn't talk about this.
What I really despise is how the mainstream media is framing Trump’s and his lawyers’ comments. As if they are “attacks”. They are just pointing out the obvious conflict of interest this judge has. This is why I hate the media in this country. They have lost all credibility with me. Twisting things and framing things from on obvious left bias. Most of the media outlets are evil with their lies.
What we have in our government is the equivalent of the Spanish Inquisition, but rather than religious fanatics we have political fanatics willing to do anything they wish to anybody. Seemingly with total impunity and without any sort of consequence at all.
The judge's wife, Lara Merchan, worked under New York AG Leticia James. To be fair, I am noting that she was there before James was elected. But it just seems like all of these people are connected professionally, personally, and politically in some way shape or form.

What hypocrisy.
Trump can talk about the case as much as he wants. What he is restrained from doing is attacking court personnel, witnesses, jurors, and their families. I even think the judge excluded himself from the gag order.
What a shame it is that such an order is even necessary. You’d think he would be less likely to go out of his way to intentionally **** off the people prosecuting your upcoming criminal trial.
IMO, we need to know how all elected and appointed people who have power over the rest of us get their money.
This judge has close family members working for his democrats earning money doing it.
Where does that leave Clarence Thomas? What's sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander.
