Because the free press does it for them. Ukrainians don't need bots.

I agree that it isn't linear, but a rapid advance would either mean the Russian lines are weakened/attritioned to the point of collapse, or Russian fortifications have been damaged to the point they cease to provide a force multiplier.

I'm not a military expert by any means, but I know the Russian fortifications are multiple layers deep, and the outer layers are designed to be penetrated without weakening the overall effectiveness. Moreover, there is no reason to believe that Russia is being affected by attrition at a higher rate than the Ukrainians.

And from what I understand, the Russians aren't exactly rushing troops to Zaporizhzhia to plug the gaps. They seem to be going on their own offensives elsewhere. Namely in Kupiansk.

PS: I haven't been following the war much lately because I basically already know the outcome, the "sides" are already dug in, and this thread is mostly a bunch of shills spamming Ukrainian propaganda and Russian soldier gore videos, so it feels like a waste of time.

I only responded to you because you were making a statement founded in logic(which is rare on the internet) and I just wanted to provide more info.

Desperate Russia has moved weapons from the Japan defense line to Ukraine due to severe equipment shortages. I say it's time for Japan to take back lands stolen from them by the Russians.

I am sure you know there was never a peace treaty signed between Japan and Russia.
This could get to be fun. Japan would dearly love to have the northern islands Russia took away.

Norway is sending Typhon air defense systems to Ukraine. I thought it was typhoon and misspelled, but no it's typhon. I learned a new word today.

Russia has built a drone factory to produce cheap Iranian drones for the war. It's not cost effective for Ukraine to shoot down these cheap drones with missiles. Short-range air defense systems that fires rounds are better for the job. And the Norway's Typhon is a state-of-art system that uses bullets and electronic jamming to bring down drones . The system is mounted on a German Dingo truck. Looks really good too.

ISW Update 9/2/23

https://www.understandingwar.org/bac...ptember-2-2023

Quote:
Sep 2, 2023 - Press ISW

Ukrainian forces continued counteroffensive operations in western Zaporizhia Oblast and reportedly advanced on September 2. The Ukrainian General Staff reported that Ukrainian forces conducted offensive operations in the Melitopol (western Zaporizhia Oblast) direction. Russian milbloggers who have recently maintained that Russian forces hold positions in the southern part of Robotyne claimed that Russian forces withdrew from the southern outskirts of the settlement to unspecified positions further south. Ukrainian Deputy Defense Minister Hanna Malyar stated on September 1 that Ukrainian forces have overcome the Russian “first line of defense” in some areas of the Zaporizhia direction, but that the situation remains difficult due to additional Russian concrete fortifications and dense minefields.

Disgusting…may the full wrath of German law take care of this sub-human.

German police are investigating a Russian man after he allegedly threw a 10-year-old Ukrainian boy off a bridge for speaking his native language.

Investigators believe the attack was politically motivated as refugees from Ukraine face a backlash in Germany where more than a million have been welcomed since the start of Russia’s invasion.
