This war is awful.

CIA Director Burns calls the Russian Ukraine War an exciting once in a generation opportunity to recruit spies inside of Russia who become disaffected.

Imagine thinking that war is so wonderful instead of hell on earth.

https://news.antiwar.com/2023/07/03/...ruiting-spies/

More evidence that Ukraine has used anti-personnel mines that are illegal internationally, including signed on to by Kiev. These pose a massive threat to civilians.

In Russia, a man is facing 2 years in a penal colony, because he encouraged his daughter to draw anti-war cartoons. Wow.

I have no idea what you're talking about. Russians are better trained than the Ukrainians. And the only reason Ukraine isn't fighting with sticks is because they're being armed by the richest country in the world. Russians curb-stomped the Afghanis all day long. They couldn't win for the same reason we couldn't win.

What is actually true is that Russia has often been less technologically-advanced than its enemies. Which means it either lost the wars against them or won at high costs.

As for Russian soldiers not being paid well. They get paid extremely well. It's something like $2500-$3000 a month. Which is like $100k in Russia(when you adjust for purchasing-power).

Secondly, I don't understand the logic behind the belief that a mutiny is unlikely because the Russian Army is underpaid, poorly trained, and starving. Those are the exact things that cause a mutiny.

If I recall, he didn't get in trouble for his daughter drawing an anti-war cartoon. The government began investigating him because the school alerted authorities. What got him in trouble was what he was saying on social media(claiming Russia was committing war crimes, bombing civilians, etc). I think initially he only got a fine, had to wear something like an ankle monitor, and his daughter was taken to a shelter. But then he fled Russia to Belarus where he got extradited back to Russia and that's why he got the two years in prison.

The third wave is coming

Yury Podoliaka (https://t.me/yurasumy), journalist:

▪️Obviously, the so-called counter-offensive in the south follows its own patterns. The handwriting is not Zaluzhny, he is not in charge.

▪️The West is concerned that the efforts to prepare the counteroffensive turned out to be blurred, there are no news reasons for joy.

▪️A third wave is being pumped up in the Zaporozhye direction, this morning there are powerful assault actions. But so far the enemy has nothing to brag about. The Armed Forces of Ukraine have small advances in two places, purely formal.

▪️Political and military clans come into play, trying to shift the blame on each other. Zalugny now has all the cards in his hands.

There is little time before the NATO summit. Zelensky throws information that he will not go.

▪️As far as I know, they are not invited to the summit. They propose something else - a joint meeting between Ukraine and NATO. Of course, it’s easier for Zelensky to say that he won’t go.
The summit includes several different meetings concerning the internal problems of NATO. Of course, in Ukraine they will say that the problems of Ukraine have shown the weaknesses of NATO, that it is necessary to increase the production of weapons. That is, the issue is not directly tied to Ukraine. Then there will be a separate meeting dedicated to interaction with Ukraine - formally it will not be a NATO summit. This is offensive to Zelensky, so he wins back the agenda a week before the summit.

▪️There are signs that the third wave has begun. Daily attacks on our positions in the Zaporozhye direction: from the Dnieper to Velyka Novosyolka. If the previous two waves started hard, abruptly, now this is an increase in the power of the overruns.

▪️The Armed Forces of Ukraine are trying to find positions. They come in quite large numbers. We can talk about the beginning of the third wave.

Zaporozhye direction at 14:00

The enemy in the amount of 20 people attacked the Zherebyanki settlement in the forehead, at this time 30 people of the Armed Forces of Ukraine went from Pyatikhatki along the road. ATGM operators, noticing the accumulation, worked on the enemy. At the moment, TOS "Solntsepek" is working on the remnants of which went by pickup truck into the forest.

Velikonovoselovskoye direction - situation at 14.00 04.07.23

I will repeat once again my thesis today - in my opinion, the third wave of the offensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the South has begun. True, his tactics have changed somewhat. Now he does not strike in one place with large forces, but tries to feel for weak points on a broad front.

True, there are some regularities here. Judging by yesterday's and today's reports, the enemy has shifted his main efforts from the Orekhovsky direction to the Velikonovoselovsky direction (but it's too early to say 100%, maybe this is a distracting blow).

First, the attacks here are carried out by much larger forces. And secondly, they have a single idea, which is already generally visible.

The primary task is to knock down our units from the heights, going into their flank from the side of Priyutny. Further, a blow across the valley to Staromlynovka, and with a good combination of circumstances, a quick breakthrough of the only serious line of defense here (and we have not three of them here, as near Orekhovo, but one), which is located south of this very Staromlynovka.

At the same time, yesterday the enemy had a tactical success here. He managed to push our units to the west of Priyutnoye and come close to this settlement. And today he continues to attack, both here and in the Urozhaynoye area to divert our forces and the attention of aviation, which is a decisive factor in the stability of our defense.

Here's a very basic economical reason, why the war is going the way it's going.
It is benefiting the USA.
Economically speaking, US is in a huge crisis.
Financial bubbles threatened full collapse to the country.
With Ukraine war in motion, with land-lease revived, those bubbles are blown away by the that war.
You send a tank - you need to make a new one, more expensive. You send a F16 - you need to replace it with F35. You send 155mm artillery shells - you need to replace them tenfold with newer, better and more expensive. Military Industrial complex and its satellites work full steam. Governing party is bragging about how economy is booming. Bubbles slowly but steadily disappear.

Money, it's all about money.

Colleges in the southern Russian republic of Ingushetia, located just north of Georgia, are issuing diplomas only if the students accept a mobilization order at the same time. If they refuse, they face being imprisoned for up to two years.

Ingushetia has a population of 500,000. The Ingush news website Fortanga reports that students are being forced to go in person to receive their diplomas. They are immediately being handed a summons for mobilization, in front of witnesses, and have to decide whether to accept it. Their decision is recorded.

HIMARS took out 3 Russian BM-21 rocket launchers in Bakhmut. At least one rocket fired as explosives cooked off.

Money, it's all about money.
Think about the economic blow Russia could deliver simply by moving their troops to their own side of the border.
