More from Prigozhin and his motive for the march on Moscow. And the MoD's "offer" of contracts for his men to join the regular army:

Quote:
Mr. Putin spoke hours after Mr. Prigozhin made his first remarks since Saturday. The mercenary leader said that his rebellion was a protest against a new law that would require his fighters in Ukraine to sign contracts with the government by July 1. The goal, he claimed, had not been to seize power.

Both men had kept a low profile since Wagner’s audacious march toward Moscow ended on Saturday as part of a deal brokered by the president of Belarus. Under that agreement, Mr. Prigozhin agreed to turn his fighters around in return for his leaving Russia for Belarus.

Here’s what else to know:
  • The future of the Wagner mercenary group remains unclear. Mr. Prigozhin said in his remarks earlier Monday that he had not been intending to oust Mr. Putin, and that he was only protesting the new law that he said would have effectively halted Wagner’s operations in Ukraine. His location remains unknown.
  • So, the "offer" of contracts for his troops, that was part of the "deal" negotiated by Lukashenko, wasn't an offer at all. It was a reminder that his men were required by law to join the army by July 1.
And if his men refuse to sign on with the Ministry? (As he said earlier, 98% of them already have refused) Will the criminal charges against them be re-instated?

It seems very little was resolved through these strange "offers", except that Prig for some reason bought the deal. He agreed to the deal and called of his march, even though he knew his men wouldn't comply with the required military conscription.

This problem isn't going to go away. It's only going to fester and erupt again at some point. But I suppose he at least bought some time for his men. They have until July 1, and then we'll see what happens.

I believe he gave them three options.

1. Join the Russian army.
2. Go back home.
3. Go to Belarus.

I guess that means all those prisoners get to go home.

It seems that the Wagner Group is now history. Which is good news for Ukraine.

Quite the embarrassment for Putin, letting out the inmates to fight in Ukraine doesn't exactly paint Russia's mighty fighting force in a positive light. The mercenaries turned on him but gave him a pass and now all is well, he forgave them. LOL

He went from bringing them to justice to amnesty in a few days, all is good in Mother Russia.

If the Wagner group heads home then who fights in Ukraine.

I agree. Putin is in good shape. He successfully crushed the coup. Putin is not going anywhere.

Yes to both.

Quote:
And they call that "leadership"?! Some might call it schizophrenia.
I believe everything was quite logical.
When they saw THIS going on in Rostov

https://t.me/grey_zone/19330

instead of anger of people towards the rebels and *unanimous support of Russian people to dear president," ( plus uncertain mood of the regular army,) they got scared.
But after Wagner refused to proceed with military actions and to make an attempt to take over Moscow, they rebounded.
So it's all only logical.

Quote:
But it shows that what I posted a couple days ago was right; Prig intended the whole thing, from the takeover of Rostov to the march toward Moscow to be a show of force, to get everyone's attention and demonstrate that he was a power to be reckoned with.
Absolutely.

Quote:
It was partly an intimidation tactic, and it worked.
Nothing else would work for bunch of thugs sitting in Putin's office other than intimidation.

Quote:
But he didn't expect them to go back on their word, and cancel the offers after their panic subsided. But also he also did it because he was angry at how his team had been treated, and at the incompetence of the MoD. He was fed up.
You think so?

He was not born yesterday, plus he knows well people he is dealing with.

That's why negotiating with Luka was a wise thing.

Quote:
Still, orders have been given in Belarus, to build camps for Prig and his men 200 km from the Ukraine border. So... Prig & Co. will be back in business, back in action shortly.
Yes, as I've said - in six months Belorussia received the nuclear weapons and the best fighting unit, that will soon be replenished with Belorussians as well.
Ukrainians will be next in line to join.)))

Things might take very interesting turn.

This is all ridiculous - but of course, in today's geopolitics, we could discuss anything. Just the entire fact of this makes Russia look like some poor, decentralized African country. And they call themselves the #2 military in the world as some Russians on here say.

For some reason, I'm just so curious what Prigozhin is up to right now and how he is going to dodge the sneaky-following upper story window and/or the Novichok nerve agent.

He-he, that's what pro-Ukrainian propaganda ( that is very upset by absence of civil war in Russia,) would like to make you believe.

But unlike "poor decentralized African country," Russians know when to stop and to negotiate instead of slaughtering each other, in spite of their hotheadedness.

And THAT's where the difference is - they are still big part of Christendom.
