Remember those protests in Russia earlier in the war? Russians don't protest anymore because Putin makes them pay with heavy fines and jail times. Some people here think the Russian people will topple Putin. Stop thinking like that.

A former mayor was jailed for 14 days because someone posted something about him.

Another person was fined $4,000 (a lot of money for the average Russian) for posting or re-posting anti-war stuff.

A couple were sent to prison for 6 years for posting anti-war stuff.

According to him, Russian propaganda is working very well in Russia. And I think in America too because there are some Americans who still think Putin is a good guy and Ukraine deserves to be invaded.

He talked about how sanction affect Russians. They see some inflation and for most Russians life is OK.

Me: Sanctions don't apply to consumer goods, so I don't measure the success of sanctions by looking at prices at supermarkets.

To summarize the video. Russia is doing a good job of managing the propaganda war, and they are doing a good job of managing the effects of the sanctions. So don't expect any changes inside of Russia.

Saying that a million times doesn't make it true.

I am sure there was a large contingent of Americans in 1941 saying the same about Winston Churchill.

I thought it was a war between Ukraine and Russia? Why should America have anything to do with a truce between those two countries if that is what they want?
