By the looks of it, this war is an east vs west affair, and the USA sent vast swaths of it's manufacturing base to the east. Many of the promises we are making will take over a year to fulfill because of these limitations. So now, we are going to be scrambling to ramp up, but that doesn't happen overnight. Meanwhile, Ukraine hangs on by taking what we can give them. They probably don't have much of any manufacturing capacity left. And Europe's situation in that regard is not good either. With the high price of energy, many of the steel mills have been hit hard and some have been shut down. If you can't make steel, you can't provide what your soldiers need to win a war. They are relying very heavily on the USA and it's military industrial complex/manufacturing capacity.
Me thinks you are over stating Russian capacity....all that's missing is Superman and his cape...
Russia is not as rich and powerful as you think it is ...GDP is less than Italy...
and you are understating U.S. capacity....can manufacture ammo ...weaponry and has an economy
that dwarfs Russia....just California or Texas alone....

Russian forces, so far, are disorganized ....looking like the Keystone Kops...

The Russian army suffered heavy losses in the first days of the war, and from the very first days, the Ministry of Defense kept them secret. Sergei Shoigu only mentioned casualties twice, most recently in September. According to him, only 5,937 Russian servicemen died in Ukraine. Mediazona tries to count the deaths that we are able to independently verify. As of December 30, we know the names of more than 10,000 dead military personnel. This data does not reflect the real number of casualties, we only take into account verifiable reports from relatives, local authorities, regional media and volunteers.

In a video published on Twitter on Wednesday, von der Leyen said, "More than 100,000 Ukrainian military officers have been killed” since the start of the conflict and that an estimated 20,000 civilians have died due to the fighting.

The tweet was later deleted.....for propaganda reasons.

Regarding "More than 100,000 Ukrainian military officers have been killed”.
More likely the tweet was deleted because that number is BS.

Look at the math.
Modern armies have 5-10 soldiers per officer, and the soldiers get killed too. So 100,000 officers killed means that means Ukraine's military losses was 500,000 to a million dead.
Because many more soldiers are wounded than get killed, that also means a few million were wounded, and that means Ukraine's army must have been several million soldiers.
So that "100,000 military officers killed" isn't propaganda, it's just BS.

Well, there was a video , and that was what she said. Later that particular part was edited out , they said it was requested by the Ukrainian authorities.

In regards to the propaganda, obviously there is tons of it on both sides. For instance if the numbers the new Pravda, lol, is providing were correct the war should be over. No personnel and no equipment left. Destroyed several times over in fact, lol.

Ukraine's numbers are total BS. lol show me their proof? Ukraine is getting hammered right now. The US cant supply weapons to them . We already are flying ammo from Israel that we stockpiled years ago. Its quite obvious that the Zelensky regime is entering its next chapter of defeat.

They are fighting Russia , not some rat tat military. A lot of Russian arms are more advanced than the US in many aspects.

Well given Russia's history in Afghanistan and the American experience in Afghanistan and Vietnam, and given Russia's war crimes, seems like a stretch to think Ukraine can't hold out for years. Its a matter of survival.

Wouldn't matter. Russia got hammered in WW2. They won.
Viet Cong got hammered in Vietnam War. They won.
Taliban got hammered. Won.

But I only read a word or two in your posts. You just make stuff up.

You're imposing different criteria. You're comparing baseless guesstimates with verified data. How many names of Ukrainian officers do they know?

Im sure her being european and not from a military background, had something to do with the wording if that was the exact context/translation. Of course she meant soldiers.

The issue of funerals is treated as the most serious political issue by President Zelenskyi 's war propaganda team. They even regulate when and at what rate relatives are informed of the news of a death, but they also carefully allocate the number of funerals allowed per day. Obviously, they are afraid of the panic due to the increasingly massive loss of life, the despair of the relatives, and the even more dramatic deterioration of the civil and military mood.
That is why the special refrigerated wagons are needed, one of which is now standing just a few hundred meters from the Hungarian border, under the strictest military custody. These special vehicles were received by Ukraine a few months ago in the name of foreign military assistance, and they also have self-developed refrigerated trucks for transporting dead bodies.
According to the information that has come to light so far , each of these hearse wagons has a load capacity of 50 tons, i.e. it can store approximately 500 corpses each. So far, only Al-Jazeera television was allowed by the Ukrainians to show such a refrigerated wagon, but of course only when it was transporting the bodies of Russian soldiers.

In Ukraine, war losses are considered a strict war secret, official information is rarely made public. Anyone who breaks the rule in any way, even with a social media post, can expect a prison sentence.

You have no data at all . All these figures by western media have no evidence to support them. At what point do you realize that the corporate media here always has their narrative.

Just like weeks ago when Ukraine Claimed they did not lose Soledor and said the russians were lying.... lol

Well all the sudden the western media has swept that story.. Low and Behold... Ukraine admits they were defeated.

Soledor has been captured and the Russians will now encircle Bakmuht ... once that happens.. its all open flat land for Ukrainians to withdrawl, if they have the chance. which leads Russians opent to destroying retreating forces.
