If a $300 check is enough to make people not accept a company's job, that says more about how low wages are in the US than anything. This speaks to the need for an increase in minimum wage.
Yep. Employers are used to a race to the bottom and that they can 0ay for the best talent with less. They do not know what to do now that people aren't lining up. They claim it is high unemployment pay, meanwhile it has seen a decrease and more states requiring you to look for work again.

they just came out with info stating the average unemployment pay through September = $34K/yr = $17/hr and change. $300/week = $7.50/hr boost.
Now, I don't *think* the Dems are either smart or nefarious enough to try an end-around on raising the minimum wage. But that is essentially what's happening. Besides, if you're being paid $17 NOT to work, what would be required for to actually make the effort?
Very big bust. Yesterday I was reading a prediction that the number might be over 1 million. Instead only 266,000? It's baffling how these forecasters could be so wrong. If the stimulus checks are keeping people from taking jobs, then the "experts" should have seen that coming.

If that's the sign of a job killer, I sure hope he keeps it up!

some "experts" did see it coming. Any "expert" that said....
1. Why are we paying people more to NOT work?
2. Why are people who suffered no income harm (retained their income, hours, etc) getting paid another stimulus check?
3. Bonus points as "experts" if the saw reports on what Americans did with Stimulus I, and incorporated it into their assessment https://www.economist.com/graphic-de...imulus-cheques
President Biden says this pathetic jobs report means we are on the right track.
My theory was the speech was written before they knew they number and they didn't change it. OR by right no track, they mean more taxes collected to give handouts to keep them in power.
And who would blame you or anyone else who has made a similar decision over the past year?
Saw a report on the news the other day about a store worker abused by a customer over wearing a mask quit on the spot after being in her position for four years.
Why should people go back to work to suffer ongoing abuse and risk being exposed by those same idiots?
Because they want to eat? That's why WE work. Sometimes working sucks. Sometimes your manager is in a bad mood. Poor abused snowflakes.

Then they’ll find some other form of employment that doesn’t include being abused by entitled customers/clients.
Next time the drive line at the fast food place is long or you have to be on hold for ten-fifteen minutes when calling the doctor’s or vet’s office, remember that it’s because of people who think that these people don’t deserve respect that they are short-staffed.
Ben Sasse has introduced a bill to pay hiring bonuses in lieu of the current unemployment subsidy.
