Well, looky here. It's already Panic in Needle Park with the Dems:

https://www.zerohedge.com/news/2019-...mps-reelection

"Rumors about Schultz - a lifelong Democrat - possibly throwing his hat into the ring in the race for the 2020 Democratic nomination first surfaced after he left the company last year. But in recent weeks, a flurry of media reports warning that Schultz might launch an independent bid for the nomination triggered fits of apoplexy in the Democratic establishment.

Responding to this perceived threat, anonymous Democratic strategists have been warning every reporter in their rolodex that - best case scenario - Schultz's independent bid is an embarrassing flop. Worst case: He peels off enough swing state voters to hand Trump a second term."

I say he should go for it. I would expect something similar to happen with the Republicans, if they primary Trump, he'll run independent. And probably win, under this scenario.

As long as there is evidence to indict, prosecute, convict, and incarcerate the former administration, and many of the holdovers in this administration, the DRUM BEATING distractions will continue to fill the airwaves. Trump may know business and negotiating, but he flunks on wielding government power to secure the rights of the people from the predators who gained high office.
Of course, he may be their covert ally in this matter, and acting as a red herring to keep attention on himself for their benefit.
Or perhaps it is the fault of the people who are willing to embrace socialist slavery and sell their grandchildren into servitude?

And now, that his opponents can't stand him, and his base is now enraged (I listen to talk radio ;D) because he caved in to an impossible situation that they for some reason thought he should stick out, despite zero chance of winning, he kind of has no friends.

Coulter's tweet, from his OWN PARTY, is about the rudest, most humiliating thing I've read all year.

With his base, the less than 25% of the voters, there was NOTHING AT ALL this president could do to lose their support except compromise with the opposition. And now he's done more than that, he completely capitulated to them.

Listening to the voices today, I could hear repeated hope that when he comes back Feb. 15, THEN he'll get his wall. When the host asked are you angry? Yeah I'm angry!!!! He shouldn't have given in. But they'll pass his budget on Feb. 15 so this'll be worth it.

Just as posters who back him are saying here.

What happens March 1 when he no longer has any support? Not even his angry MAGA hat cheerleaders?

Um. Bye.

Not a particularly insightful analysis.

Most presidents loose support in their second term.

Reagan was lower.

Clinton and Obama were only slightly higher (1-3 pts).

Prior to the shut-down, Trump was polling better than Obama at the same point in the first term.

European leaders Macron, Merkel and May are each polling significantly lower than Trump.

As for that 25%, half the eligible voters stay home on election day.

That half that stays home is almost always disproportionately Democrats.

I don't think you would be prepared for what that will look like, especially the aftermath.

There would be no coming back from it, for the US. Actually, I think that line has already been crossed.
Trump is only a man and I might add, not a very upstanding man. He is not a god. The USA, will be so much better without this person in our oval office.

Yep.

He also probably wanted to get under Obama's skin a bit for making fun of him at the 2011 White House correspondents dinner, and (after thinking he would lose) to be able to whine that 'the system is rigged' until his dying day (to get people to pay attention to him with 'sympathy').

Somebody should have explained to Hillary about the electoral college - then you wouldn't have to worry about it. LOL
