It doesn't matter. History will write that he backed down first.

Well, I'm glad that the shutdown is at least going to be abated somewhat for the time being.

I agree with the posters talking about grandstanding, there was A LOT of that going on and you know Trump and congress weren't missing any meals, car payments or otherwise suffering like a lot of rank and file Americans were.

Nah. She'll reopen the invitation, because she said she would. Unlike some I could mention, she understands the implication of what she is saying, and has little need to walk things back.

But you bet, she is indeed BOSS.

OMG I had to turn it off. When will he just announce what he did and then shut up. Never heard such stupid rambling. Just admit you lost and move on.

I suspect the "mutually agreeable date" will be after the three weeks of the reprieve.

But who knows.

The Pelosi praise makes me want to throw up in my mouth....but if you want to praise one of the leading wall-street\corporate voices that have helped turn the democrats into socially more liberal Republicans over the past 20 years then that's your choice.

P.S. She does have to invite him or it ratchets up incivility between parties yet one more level and makes her look bad. It would be a really stupid move on her part to appear vindictive when "winning".

Just stop. You are making a fool of yourself.
It's always give-and-take who controls the majority...it's always roughly 50/50 for many years now and the balance shifts by each election cycle. But you knew that.

He couldn’t take being “alone” in they White House anymore. About time for a visit to a crowd that will stroke him.

McConnell has been clear that he does not think much of Trump's shutdowns.

"There's no education the second time you're kicked by a mule."

So perhaps Trump won't put himself in this humiliating position again.

Do you listen to yourself????

She just obviously and publicly out-manuevered Trump. What mental status does he have, if what you say is true?
