Well, it's official. Since the gov't didn't reopen today, 792,000 federal employees will miss their second check.

Federal contractors, all 1.6 million of them, are going on four weeks without work. And unlike federal employees, contractors will NOT be paid retroactively.

Now that close to 3 million federal workers (feds and contractors combined) are approaching a month without pay, I wonder if Trump still feels like "most of those workers agree with me and want the wall."

Hard not to wonder if this is what Trump's shakedown is really all about.

Good catch, GHQ. I was reading about that earlier.

FBI and other three-letter law enforcement agencies have court cases that are being held up and also their street-level investigations and undercover operations are being impacted as they have no money to buy drugs & guns from gangs like MS-13, Hells Angels, etc.

No doubt it's a contributing factor.

And one that few had taken into consideration.

I agree that the fact really is not about the wall or even the money for the wall. The $5B that Trump wants for the wall is a "drop in the bucket" in relation to the federal govt budget. The govt probably spends more on paper clips.

So what is actually about???

It's about Dems not wanting to let Trump get what he wants... about not giving Trump a "win"... It's truly about RESIST.

Indeed it is.

And a liability for America.

Default The shutdown causes temptation to take bribes

That is how Putin got trump and I would not be surprised if this is Putin once again directing Trump to weaken the USA. The shutdown weakens security Trump you liar and treacherous thief.

Trump cares nothing for security because he is a tool of a foreign adversary and using the wall BS as red meat for his gullible base...or what is left of it.

Without Trump's help, Putin could not do to the United States what the United States is now doing to itself.

Default Possible End of Shutdown in Sight

The Senate is introducing two bills: one includes wall funding and the other extends funding to reopen the government but doesn't include funding for the wall.
