Donald Trump was elected for 2 reasons: Telling people what to be afraid of and who was to blame for their fear.

Trump said at least 20 times Mexico would pay for the wall.

So I'm right. You just refuse to admit that Trump lied once again. There is none so blind as they who will not see.

So, why are Democrats trying to oppose Trump on this?

He got elected because many people saw him as the only politician who actually cares about the country, and not politics.

For example, all the other presidents before him said they'd make the US embassy in Jerusalem, but it was not politically advantageous. Trump does does what is right, and to hell with political party politics and doesn't care what K Street or the usual high dollar donors want.

A lot of big money rollers like open borders, it gives them cheap labor. However, ignoring our immigration laws is not the right thing to do. And once again, Trump just wants to do what is best for the country, not what is best for glowing headlines, or to be praised by the mainstream media.

All the presidents before Trump were sellouts, for not securing the border, not enforcing immigration laws, not moving the US embassy in Israel. They sold out to politics, to play the game, to appease the people who call the shoots - not Trump. Hilary would have been a sellout, 0bama was a sellout.

And when 0bama said he'd close Gitmo, move the US embassy to Jerusalem, cut the deficit, end earmarks, lower our health care insurance by $2,500 a year, etc... was he lying, or does he get a pass?

Trump never said Mexico was going to cut us a lump sum check. Trump repeatedly said Mexico will pay for the wall thru indirect means. Some possible examples he cited were tariffs, or new trade deals that poured money into the US. One way or the other, Mexico was going to end up paying for the cost of building a wall. He never said they'd cut us one huge check for the full amount.

It was probably said above, but it bears repeating: Trump and his wall did not get the most votes in 2016. Since then, we see poll after poll showing nearly 2/3 of Americans don't want a wall and in the biggest and best poll of all, the midterms, Republicans who ran in competitive races on "the wall" ticket all lost.

No matter, I get it. Elections matter. And that is why Nancy is calling the tune now. No wall. It is time to stop talking about it and move on to things Americans really do care about like healthcare and education.

Which should be a glaring red light to people. Just ten years ago, all the Democrats in leadership were pounding the stump calling for immigration enforcement, promoting border enforcement, building a fence/wall, and opposed to illegal immigration. Hilary, Obama, Reid, et al... They even voted to build a border wall in 2006.

Then suddenly, all the dems did a 180 degree flip, and have been opposed to US immigration enforcement, they love sanctuary cities and open borders, and hate the same wall they all voted to build. Sadly, the empty-headed minions and sheeple voters, democrats and some repubs too, did a 180 flip with them.

No tRump wall.

Pubs couldn't get it done even though they OWN the federal govt. All 3 branches.

Not one brick. Not a centavo from Mexico.

Epic fail.

So much winning.

When meeting with Trump earlier this week, Schumer expressly said that he is for securing the border and US immigration enforcement. He, like me and many Republican legislators, believe the wall is a tremendous waste of money and will not be effective. Trying to paint political rivals as being for "open borders" when no one is advocating for open borders means you are either intentionally lying about others or too dumb not to parrot lies told to you.

Nonsense. The 2013 gang of 8 bill had significant enforcement among its term. Refused by the Republican leadership.
