Portland police shut down peaceful, permitted march as violent Antifa thugs attack marchers again (weapon, radical)

"Patriots"?? You mean that neo-Nazi bunch of losers who were bussed in from outside Oregon to deliberately cause trouble? Tell us, to what entity is their "patriotism" addressed? They appear to be led by a weirdo who is running for office in Vancouver, WA. Nothing to do with Portland, Oregon - just a bunch of far rightists taking advantage of an opportunity. Of course they got the required permits to rally in a state where no one can vote for their candidate - they just craved publicity and controversy and knew they'd get both by their choice of dates and location.
They had nothing whatsoever to do with the huge, entirely peaceful "Families Belong Together" rally and were nowhere near them.
Neither were the equally distasteful Antifa bunch connected to the "Families Belong Together" participants.
Nice try at muddying the waters. I trust the FBI is looking into Russian ties to both groups, both of which seem determined to further disrupt and divide and to smear law-abiding, civil discourse in the process.
Unfortunately you are wrong. Patriot prayer had a valid permit for their protests..... All the Antifa soy boys showed up without a permit as usual and got a taste of what happens when you try to silence American freedom of speech.
Am I the only one who sees the irony in a group that claims to fight facism by committing violence against anyone who disagrees with them?
Who says the only way to protest facism is non-violence? No one. There is no rulebook on protest and counter-protest.
An earlier generation of protestors may have chosen non-violence as their way to protest, but that was then and this is now. It's obvious this generation has chosen differently.

You do not need a permit to protest. The P.P. group wanted to close the streets down for a parade. They did get a permit for that.

No, I am not wrong - I stated that the patriot group had a permit, but deliberately chose the time and place for their rally in order to garner publicity. Reread my post.
I support freedom of speech, but I also support civility, something neither of these groups demonstrated.
