Why do Vietnam veterans need their own day? Isn't Veterans Day good enough? I say this as a fellow vet.

I am glad they have their own special day.

well, if they were not spit upon literally, they certainly were figuratively. Most tried to slip quietly into a normal pattern and tried to hide the fact they served in Vietnam, to avoid the anger and disdain of many.

People my age and younger should know why these folks were so mistreated. It is very simple. They were the convenient scapegoats for a very angry and war weary nation.

Yes, Special day for all Vietnam Era Veterans. It is the end of veteran scapegoating.

A moment truth, kindness STILL matters

Meh. Also speaking as a vet it's not like this is taking anything away from other veterans.

And actually this will be the 4th year of the observance; not the first:

When we hit our 366th war we will be out of days to designate.

Of course the government can always invent more days or better yet move the earth outward from the sun to scientifically jive with the expansion of the calendar.

Whatever the case I hope it means more regulation and taxes for me. Can't get enough of that stuff. Eat it up like biscuits and gravy.

Why is this here, it should be on current events.

Do we need a Korean War veterans day and other wars.
