They haven't inherited anything that their parents already haven't been through (you know, Gen X - the kids of the boomers).
The Millennials just whine a lot more than any other generation.
They want it all and NOW.
Stop listening to conservative radio. Millennials are extremely tech savvy and probably smarter than most of us. The problem is....the jobs are just not there. You have hundreds of people applying for the same job. And many of them are seniors looking to supplement their retirement.
I have a friend that graduated with an engineering degree in 1968. He worked for 4 years waiting tables before getting his first engineering position. This is not some new development. This has happened for decades. The only difference is, the lack of willingness of those graduating today, to do whatever they have to do to survive on their own.

Then he must have sucked...sorry. And no, what is happening now isn't something that happened for decades. People are blaming a whole generation for being lazy when that's just not the case.

Actually he was and is a very good mechanical engineer. He graduated toward the top of his class. As it was at the time, the demand was just not there. Yes it is what is happening now. Those graduating with degrees in science and math areas are going into the job market in their field of study. Those with graphic art degrees (as an example) are going home to live with mom and dad. Lord knows they can't work at anything that doesn't require their degree.

That is extremely sad because we need the arts. We need the creative ones to balance society. We can't all be math and science people.

No problem.. You hire them all and pay them. The fact is, there are too many people with useless degrees. Useless because the demand isn't there. Your degree is no more valuable than the market dictates. This hasn't changed.

You know, they have already eliminated teaching cursive in schools. And now you want to get rid of liberal arts which emphasizes english and history. I know few in science and math who can write a coherent sentence much less a paragraph. We need a balance of both because not everyone is a math and science major.

Then create a market... There is none now.. You can have all the good intentions in the world, but if there is no demand, then there is no job.
