Scandinavian and European countries allow their rich to legally avoid taxes. No FATCA law. Why doesn't the U.S. do that, as well?

The 'who's who' of European tax havens

And while we're at it, implement Scandinavia's and Europe's REGRESSIVE tax systems to pay for all the goodies you and other liberals want...

Other countries don’t have a “47%” - The Washington Post

How Sweden fights inequality - regressive, not progressive taxes

Bernie Sander's version of socialism isn't true socialism. Its more of the same, just different choices.

True Socialism would be public control/employee control of all companies. I.e. companies run by state or by a coop.

Bernie is more of a europe. A lot of socialism policies such as state healthcare, but also allowing companies to continue to exist as it is today

Regardless - its all smoke and mirrors. Bernie, if elected, will not make any significant changes unless there is a sudden house/senate change.

Bernie will just be Obama 2.0, at this point. More of the same (good for some, bad for others)

That you are willing to put forward the idea. That for the greater good of the many. There are certain things that are important enough to set aside some liberties and freedoms to have more control of them. For instance Education, Healthcare, Retirement, Social Mobility........

but I couldn't be bothered to read your entire post. . . if you cant say it in a paragraph, eh - move on

There is no myth there. Obamacare got passed with ZERO Republican votes.
They could have crammed anything thru Congress during that period.
Yet they didn't.

uhm...by law..only a simple majority is required to pass a law

the 60 vote BS is about stopping a filibuster, the needed ploy to let the minority at least have a word in the fight

the fact is that from jan 2007 - jan 2011 dems had control, of both houses, and from jan 2009 to jan 2011 (two years) they had control of all three houses

This is my response to this.
The bill of rights and the constitution limits what the government can not do, and protects the rights of individuals. The Tenth amendment says anything not listed in the constitution is the right of the people and or states.

So take every FEDERAL department and remove it that is not in the constitution.
EPA gone
IRS gone
Department of energy gone
Department of education gone
etc etc

Social Security phased out GONE.

Payroll tax GONE

You want socialism raise all your taxes in your states IE per the 10th amendment. You can have a state EPA , a state of education etc.

If I live in a state of socialist, I will move to another state with freedom and less government and or vote for someone to change that state.

If you like the European model, feel free to go there and partake of that largesse.

I don't like my money being used for things other than myself.
