Quite true-

The left uses the acts of criminals in an effort to punish and limit the rights of law abiding citizens.

I have owned guns for nearly fifty years. I have not killed anyone; how could this be?

Limiting gun ownership would be like banning credit cards, given that some misuse their cards and drive themselves into insolvency. Further, traffic deaths are created by those who are careless with autos, yet the feds do not seem hell bent on banning automobiles nor credit cards.

I have to wonder. If guns were banned, what would be the weapon of choice for these lunatics? It seems that the US breeds enough of these lunatics. Bombs are easy enough to make.

But... who am I. I'm not likely to wind up a victim of a mass shooting. I'm not close to my family and neither I or my spouse are gun owners. We're good. The rest of you make your own luck.
That's completely untrue.

We average 8000 homicides by firearms each year. Experts say up to 75 percent of them are inner city killings with illegal guns.

The weapon of choice would still be guns. Banning guns will not disarm criminals.

It is very unfortunate.

It is not the people who need to care. It is the black community in those neighborhoods who need to do something, like toughen up and start valuing education.

Actually untrue.

Some of the relatively recent shooters were prescribed SSRIs at some point in their lives because they demonstrated symptoms of mental illness. Some declined to be medicated. Some were off their meds. Some self medicated with other substances.

Hundreds of millions of SSRI scripts are written each year.

Adam Lanza who killed 27 was not taking any medications. Perhaps if he had been, he and his victims might be alive today.

The three most recent shooters, Charleston, Tennessee and now Lousiana were not using SSRI medications. 2/3 had a long history of illegal substance abuse - not SSRI meds.

Roof was caught with Suboxone, which has its own debilitating symptomology. Louisiana shooter had psych "treatment," which almost always involves either scripts for SSRIs or atypical antipsychotics, or both.

There was no 27 killed in Newtown, CT. Educate yourself; make some tea if you want, relax, and watch this. It's not very long:

Here's only a partial list of the psych meds, most often SSRIs, that violent individuals were on:
Every Mass Shooting Shares One Thing In Common & It's NOT Weapons

Even Germanwings pilot may have been on an SSRI prescription.

There are black box warnings on the things. This is on the insert for Luvox:
"Warning: Suicidality and Antidepressants
See full prescribing information for complete boxed warning. Increased risk of suicidal thinking and behavior in children, adolescents, and young adults taking antidepressants for major depressive disorder and other psychiatric disorders."

The ones that are cut down from bedroom closets don't always make the headlines.

If you're close to someone taking one, another thing to clue in on in people taking SSRIs is how disinhibited, emotionally detached, and slightly obnoxious they become.

Wrong, experts say up to 52% of them are inner city killings with illegal guns.
