Business models are certainly a valid consideration, but lets not pretend that the economy is making great strides. When an established company is forced to close stores, its undeniable that part and parcel of that decision was the result of the lagging economy.

Arrow Jobless Claims Fall to 3-Month Low

And yet less people are filing unemployment claims ....

U.S. Stocks Rise as Jobless Claims Fall to 3-Month Low - Bloomberg

Quote:
U.S. stocks rose, sending the Standard & Poor’s 500 Index to an all-time high, as data showed jobless claims fell to the lowest level in three months and investors watched developments in Ukraine.
Quote:
Fewer Americans than projected filed applications for unemployment benefits last week, an indication companies are holding on to staff even as cold weather threatens to slow the world’s largest economy.

I bet the horse and buggy companies thought the same thing a hundred years ago. It's not us! It's this crappy economy!

Like a lot of retailers, Radio Shack's business model made sense before the internet. Now their stores are almost completely irrelevant. No one shopped there in 2006 when the economy was booming.

The Onion article that someone posted is funny. It's even more funny to think that it was written seven years ago, and even then no one knew how Radio Shack was still around. The only stuff I've ever bought there are special audio cables and connectors because no one else carried them. Their prices on non-parts commodity products (computers, CD players back in the day) were always terrible. Then remember that they always used to ask your name, address, and phone number for some idiotic reason.

Think about the millions of employees of the insurance companies that Barack is actively trying to put out of a job.

I also heard from a manager I know who works at Red Lobster, they may be closing many Restaurants soon. But are going to keep Olive Garden Going, at least this is what I have heard.

These little stores may not seem like much, but start adding them all up, it is a big freaking deal. And more people to be laid off, this is never good. Start looking at the bigger picture!

How can anyone with any smarts ignore this.

That would be because of amazon. What does this have to do with the president?? Radioshack and staples both sell stuff for way more than amazon. Why would anyone buy there?

If you ever want to meet someone for an affair or are in the witness protection program, Radio Shacks are a great place to hide out...there's never anyone in them!

Closing Radio Shacks is a bad indicator for the economy.......of 1983!

It's his economy. A rising tide lifts all boats, right? Where's the tide? That's the question that Barack needs to answer.

The tide has been rising since the 2008 collapse but it's slow. You can't lay it all on Obama when there are obstructionist Republicans in Congress who admit they will block anything that could make Obama look good.
