I am hardly a liberal bed-wetter. Just have no idea how Radio Shack still exists.

I wonder the same thing. There is one next to our grocery store, and you never see any customers in there.

Exactly. I wonder when any the con hand-wringers here last went into a Radio Shack. (In my case it was about a month ago, to buy a new battery for my cordless landline phone.)

It was only a matter of time for Radio Shack. I have not been inside a RS store in years. Monoprice has everything, which I need at a much better price.

I step in there pretty frequently. Probably not for the reason that Radio Shack wants me to though....I go in to look for the red clearance stickers. They do a pretty bang up job in dropping prices for clearance products. I did the same with Circuit City. For whatever reason, their clearance prices were rock bottom in most cases. Hard to walk away from a good deal, even when I don't necessarily need something.

It is what it is. Taking huge profit drops has been the norm for them.

This is sad to see. I shop at a nearby Radio Shack about once or twice a year. It's usually to pick up odd bits and pieces of electronic components for my kid's Arduino projects. I think the last things I bought there were a pack of LEDs and an assortment pack of photoresistors. It's much closer to me than Fry's, and faster than online ordering. On short notice it can be lifesaver.
