Interesting comments on Israel and the Soviet Union from Nixon and Kissinger, surprised these are just coming out now.

I didn't get that sense with Nixon at least outwardly but this was very out of character for Kissinger who was pro-Israel.

Kissinger plays the Jewish card when it's convenient, but he never stood up to Nixon and his aides over it. But Kissinger clearly knew that Nixon was an anti Semite.

Thanks. It's yet another example of how Nixon had much more in common with today's liberals than today's conservatives. He favored a ban on handguns, enacted wage and price controls, etc. Nixon was to the left of Obama. And like Obama it could be tough to discern what his core principles were.

The headlines were from a Jewish Newspaper but I really don't agree that his comments in that article were anti-Semitic, Israel was in danger of upsetting the peace process with Russia.
Where can we hear the actual tapes? I say it's wrong to make such a huge, negative stain against the guy until we've seen the evidence to back it up.
