The cost of socialism is individualism and private ownership of property for the greater good, supposedly. You pull down the achievers and independents to mediocre and average, so everybody is equally poor and struggling. You don't own the product of your labor, that State owns you and what you produce, to be dispensed as they choose.
Not good governance. Freedom for individuals is a much better plan, and the freedom to fail is left up to you, as it should be.
If this was true, then please explain the existence of millionaires and billionaires in social countries.
There was no private ownership of capital in the USSR.
The capital was owned by the state, the state acted as the capitalist, that's how state capitalism works. The means of production were managed by the Central Committee similar to a board of directors in a corporation. It wasn't owned by the workers, it wasn't owned socially, or in common or any of that, it wasn't socialist. It was privately owned by the state.
You are making no sense. The state is not an individual person. If it belongs to a state it doesn't belong to anyone in particular, it's publicly owned.
Taxes, beyond what is necessary for the functioning of society e.g. the building of roads, police, national defense etc are theft in the means of redistribution. And while you may think it's charity, the fact is that FORCED charity is not charity....it's THEFT.
Taking from those who produce to give to those who do not may seem like a nice Hippy Dippy, "Tax the rich, feed the poor, til there are no rich no more" philosophy..... but there is one problem with that whole theory that the Hippies were apparently too stoned to realize.
If you take Socialism to it's ultimate goal....Who do you tax when there "are no rich no more"?????
...........You change the definition of rich and then tax the well off.
Then when there are no more well off people you change the definition of well off and tax the middle class.
Then you change the definition of middle class and tax the poor.......wait, no that won't work
Most of us Americans who WORK for a living are rather fond of the notion that I keep what I make and you keep what you make.
So, Capitalism may not be perfect but it is what built this country into the richest most powerful nation on the planet is less than 200 years.

What about the recipient class who get free housing, free medical, free education, free utilities, etc.....?
********* for lumping me in with a bunch of people who pay nothing while I bust my as 6-7 days a week and pay tens of thousands of dollars PLUS sales tax, property tax and every other damn tax that comes down the pike.
Maybe you should be asking yourself what's wrong with this picture?
Why should you work hard and have to pay a 28% or higher tax rate, yet, an "investor" makes millions or even billions and only has to pay a 15% rate (which some complain is too high)?
1) What constitutes your definition of a "lazy" person?, and
2) What are their "rewards" for being "lazy"?
In Jeff Foxworthy Land it might be this: "If hard work and success are met with higher taxes and more government intrusion, while not working is rewarded with EBT cards, WIC vouchers, Food Stamps, Medicaid, subsidized housing and free cell phones....you might live in a country founded by geniuses and run by idiots."
