New Jersey couple have named their child for "Adolph Hitler" and have had the children taken away from them because of their name. This all started when a store refused to write down the name of the son on a birthday cake. As much as many of us may disagree with the parents and feel bad for the children, they have full rights to name their children whatever they want without fear of having children taken away from them because of that. What happened to First Amendment Freedom of Speech?

So this mean that Westboro kids who are innocent should be taken away from the parents too?

I believe the kids were taken away due to the neglect and abuse... Although the name probably didn't help.

I do not believe that. They have no proof of it. Children were taken away due to their name and because their parents are Neo-Nazis.

Well, I don't think the New Jersey Superior Court is taking your opinion into consideration. The basis for the removal of the children was domestic violence, not the names of the children.

Who cares? They can name thier kids whatever so long as they are not endangering the kids. The kids didn't choose their retarded parents.

Parents should have very broad freedom in how they raise their children but not 100% freedom. In this case, with the parents violating the child's human rights by using him as a billboard for their neo nazi ideology, the state is justified in intervening.

You don't think being named Adolph Hitler puts the kid in danger?

Define "evil people".. Who cares? If someone wants to name their child Stalin - all the power to them. Should we have a naming database and that every time a child is born the next name in line is the childs name? Really...
Why would you want to control that? For what purpose? Because "you" (in general) don't like a name?

It is not abusive to a child, the only abuse comes from adults who instigate the "evil" behind such a name. In which case I think adults should be taken into account for their improper behavior.

Children are a parents responsibility, not the governments.
