Sounds like you think children belong to the state.
... until you actually think about it.

It is not abusive to a child, the only abuse comes from adults who instigate the
"evil" behind such a name. In which case I think adults should be taken into
account for their improper behavior.
Not abusive? These names were banned elsewhere.

"Mafia No Fear."
'"*"
"Number 16 Bus Shelter."
"Talula Does the Hula From Hawaii."

I don't see this as a matter of individual rights vs. state power. It's about balancing the rights of parents and child. Doesn't a child have the right to grow up without being named after some evil guy or otherwise abused? How can a child's rights be protected if not by the state?

For me and you Hitler may seem as evil, but what about others who admire Hitler? Hitler had great speeches and very smart and powerful despite the harmful he has done against minorities.

Yeah, I'm sure Vlad the Impaler made some great speeches too, but I wouldn't name my kid after him.

I think it would be kind of mean to name a child 'Adolf Hitler'.

But I actually like the name Adolf a lot. Meeting an Adolf Miller wouldn't phase me a bit.

When you apply that principle to the idea that society should be able to define the parameters of marriage, then Harrier will put some stock in to what you say.
