1. They didn't want to show a military presence there so they hired local militia
2. They were in the process of making Benghazi a permanent consulate and Hillary was going to go to Tripoli in Dec and announce it
3. The security requests were first through unofficial channels and were told no. Then they went through official channels and the request was not responded to
There should be transcripts of the hearings on the net. This is what I recall hearing Hicks say.
Another thing..there were special ops in Tripoli and when the first plane was going to Benghazi the special ops were directed to stand down.
Hicks does not know who gave the order..just that it came from "the command".
It was 2nd plane that the special ops didn't get on. The first plane did go with a response team. Doherty who was later killed was on that first flight.
They in part didn't send additional people to Benghazi because they had made the decision to evacuate everyone from Benghazi.
Yes they requested more security, what type of security and would it have made a difference.
What exactly were they sending, from where, if you listened to the hearings there were no good solutions, the embassy in Benghazi was also being attacked. Everyone knew there was a risk, no one predicted this would happen until it was too late. I would bet that every embassy asks for more security and decisions need to be made. Stevens was at risk since he went back in Oct 2011, this was not a typical operation, we could have just stayed out of Libya but there was an advantage to having influence on the future of the country.

Look at the typical liberals. If you politically driven jerks had your way, these people would never had gotten to say anything. We'd all still think a video was involved. We'd all never know about multiple requests for security. We wouldnt know about stand down orders.
We still have plenty of unanswered questions. But sadly, they wont come. The people who know the most, refuse to talk. People like Hillary and her aides.
We know as much as we do know ONLY due to people searching and demanding the truth. We wouldnt know a damn thing if you hacks had any say on it. I find it sick and offensive how you call this a waste of time and a witch hunt and partisan, yet you are always the first to politicize a crisis and use it to rush through new legislation to fit your agenda. Just look at Sandy Hook. You trotted around the families of victims for months and months trying to shove through legislation that had would have had zero affect on the actual crime that took place. Yet we are spat on by you for daring to demand truth and justice on Benghazi.
There was incompetence and lies. That much is a fact. Yet you sad excuses for Americans and human beings cant even admit to that. Shame on all of you.
If 0bama were allowed to control what we know as the truth, the entire Benghazi massacre would have been ended once that video producer was imprisoned.
Obama said recently that he was "unaware" of any attempts to keep Benghazi witnesses from talking to Congress.
If Obama's words are to be believed, he's the most unaware President since Dewey defeated Truman.
1.) Did the Obama administration withhold the reinforcements our diplomats kept begging for, to maintain his false story that Al Qaeda was "on the run"?
2.) And when Al Qaeda planned and executed this attack on our consulate, killing Ambassador Stevens and three other Americans, did Obama concoct the tale about "spontaneous protests" to keep the false story going even longer, so he would get more votes in the Nov. 2012 election three weeks later?
Benghazi Witness Says State Dept. Told Him Not To Meet With Congressional Investigators
Deputy chief of mission for the U.S. in Libya Gregory Hicks testified Wednesday that he was told not to meet with a congressman sent to investigate the attack on the American consulate in Benghazi. Hicks said a State Department lawyer accompanied the delegation and attempted to be in every single meeting he was involved in.

WASHINGTON — The star witness at Wednesday's House Oversight Committee hearing on Benghazi said that a top State Department official called him after he met with a congressional delegation demanding a report from the meeting and upset that a State Department lawyer was not present.
"I was instructed not to allow the RSO, the acting deputy chief of mission — me — to be personally interviewed," said Gregory Hicks, the fomer Deputy Chief of Mission in Libya, who was in Tripoli at the time of the Benghazi attack. He said that was the first time administration lawyers had told him not to talk to a congressional delegation, and that a lawyer attempted to be present during the meeting.
"We were not to be personally interviewed by Congressman Chaffetz," Hicks said again later in the hearing.
The terminology about a "spontaneous attack" came from the CIA.
The linked story does not match Hicks testimony. He was never told not to meet with congressional investigators. Hicks made this point multiple times. He was told not to meetalonewith Congressman Chaffetz.

There have been many incidents in Yemen, Egypt, Tunisia.
Tripoli was not your normal embassy and Benghazi was not your normal consulate or annex, there were more CIA and military than state department employees.
If this partisan ass went to a funeral for a person who passed away due to natural causes, then in that case, yes, death is a part of life. But murdering someone in their prime of life, thru brutal terrorist attacks is not a normal part of life.
Can YOU or anyone you know of guarantee ANYBODY a life where they will die ONLY AS A RESULT OF NATURAL CAUSES? Do you consider death during a war to be murder?

Why was the CIA telling people in Washington that the Benghazi attack was inspired by Cairo 4 days after the attack in Benghazi?
Obama has never answered where he was and what he was doing while the attack was going on. So all that can be done is to see where he was not. He as far as we know was totally disengaged from the attack as it happened, He was not in the situation room , he gave no orders to try to save the personal under attack for if he had you can bet those orders would have been made known. So the president was either completely disengaged or simply did not care we were under attack . Either way is not good
Obama gave orders to his subordinates. This has been known for months.
