Let's see the difference here:

Liberals strong armed Bush into lowering the deficit.

Conservatives strong armed Clinton into causing a financial meltdown.

Completely the same thing.

I wouldn't say "Great". I'd bestow that title on guys like Lincoln or the Roosevelts. But Clinton was better than average.

Interesting you choose the presidents who were historically known for disregarding the constitution and establishing their own directive.

I used to like Clinton, in retrospect though my opinion of him continues to decline.

What is really mind-boggling is that he repealed glass-steagall, signed NAFTA and signed the Defense of Marriage act.....oh and then his last day pardons for people like BILLIONAIRE tax evader Marc Rich. It still boggles my mind how someone could sign those anti-union, anti-gay, anti-regulation bills and be such a party darling.

He also got disbarred while in office. Sigh.

Other than the Family Medical Leave act, his only other big legacy was the good economy during his terms but hindsight is showing us that was bubble economy stuff which Bush kept bubbling until it blew up in Obama's face.

What am I missing?

He's better than the last two clowns we've had in office.

I think it's too early to say whether he was great or not.

At this point I'm willing to say he was better than average.

Default No

The CURRENT President is greater.

Bill Clinton never faced the level of adversity that Barack Obama overcame to rise to the highest office in this land. No previous president has. Clinton was not as scrutinized as Obama, not nearly as opposed by Republicans as President Obama has been. The mess that Dubya handed off to the new President Obama was far worse than what Dubya's father gave to Bill. Clinton didn't have to deal with this current version of Republicans in Congress, worst in history. The problems that this President has to deal with are far more complex than they were during Clinton's era before 9/11.

No, Eisenhower was the last great president.... John F Kennedy could have been except the ones in power saw to it he wouldn't be ......although some of our state brainwashed nutcases on here believe that Oswald acted alone in another thread
