Except you don't know what a developed nation is. Mexico isn't one. I know you couldn't wait to pat yourself on the back for our nation being less violent than our neighbors to the south, but you'll have to hold off on that.
Switzerland is definitely a huge exception among developed nations, not the rule.

I enjoy target shooting, and collect custom 1911's but the main reason I carry a gun is for protection. Will it work everytime who knows but it's at least a chance more of a chance than some of these victims get.
getting shot does not qualify her as a hero and in fact trying to remove/restrict my rights makes her a tyrant.
Fighting for her life and sanity makes her a hero in my book. Now fighting for people to be able to live with some dignity in this country makes Gabby and her husband bigger heroes. Tyrants? Whew, that's tough.

Has it ever occurred to you that Gabby Gifford and other politicians are pushing for gun control because they think it will save lives and make our nation safer ---- that their agenda reflects their beliefs?
