Opinions are all you are talking about when you claim the Democrats will "own it" - and your opinion about who will get the blame isn't in alignment with what most people are saying.

The House Republicans will not win this fight.

"Getting the blame" is a far cry from who is responsible for something. I'm well aware of the Democratic mantra of "Tell the same lie over and over again and it becomes accepted as the truth." Obama's creators in the MSM will do everything they can do to create and spread the myth that Obama somehow isn't responsible for this. And 51% of the population may be ignorant enough to believe it.

IMO, there is nothing wrong with letting the entire "Bush Tax Cuts" expire. Dems have been attacking them for 10 years, claiming they only benifit "the rich". Yet, in fact the vast majority of such cuts went to the working poor and middle class. Their expiration will be a wake-up call to many people that they have been lied to by the Dems and the MSM. It will serve as a reminder of what Bush did for them, and demonstrate very obviously the difference between Democratic and Republican approaches. Republicans need to publicize all the Democratic statements demonizing the tax cuts for the last decade.

Once that lie blows up when everyone sees their first paycheck in January, perhaps Obama will decide to take time off from campaigning to try, oh, say, leading. For once.

They still do not have the majority, a seat in the House is not equal to the seat in the Senate.

If the Republicans cared about the 98% the House would pass a bill to extend their tax cuts only and it would get passed tomorrow by the Senate and President, no questions asked....why haven't the Republicans in the House done that yet?

Over 50% is a majority...no matter how you try to redefine the term. End result is that it doesn't matter, control of the Senate does not depend on who is in control of the House.

And of Dems cared, they would have passed (the Senate) and signed (Obama) the bill passed by the House that doesn't punish anyone. Why haven't they done that? Do they care more about punishing people that (tended to) vote against them than they do about hurting the other 98% of the country? Why are they willing to increases tax rates by 50% on the lowest income earners, just to raise top rates from 35% to 39%? Why not fix loopholes and deductions that let the top income earners actually pay at a far lower rate, as Republicans have proposed? Rates are smoke and mirrors for highest income earners anyway, but Dems don't want to address that.

Nobody is trying to punish the top 2 %.

Obama wants the top two marginal income tax rates to be 39.6 percent and 36 percent, instead of the current 35 percent and 33 percent.

And the top 2 % are not actually paying 35 or 33 percent. The IRS indicates that in 2009 the top 1 to 5 % paid an average federal income tax rate of 16 %.

Give it up, republidolts. The game is up. The ship has sailed.

Here's a hint: it's not democrats who are kicking members off of their committees. That's all ya need to know. A few of the republicans with IQs over 100 get it: they're on the hook. They can make Obama look bad, but they'll make themselves look 10X as bad. Even their corporate buddies on Wall St. will be angry at them for hurting the economy. The republicans can make the super rich pay 2-4% more and close a few loopholes that will still, at the end of the day, allow American corporations to do quite well, or they can send the fragile economic recovery over the cliff. I don't know what these idiots expect to achieve. Didn't they get it after the election? Yes, they've made Obama look bad and they can continue to do so, but the bottom line is, they'll make themselves look like the party of the mentally infirm...as they already have.

You are still engaging in wishful thinking, and you are still saying that YOUR opinion of who is responsible is the correct assessment, and that those who disagree are ignorant.

Prognostication didn't turn out to be a strong point of conservatives, did it?

The house has passed numerous bills that would extend them or make them permanent. Yet our petulant president is threatening to veto any extension of these cuts, unless he gets the chance to punish the top 2 percent of income earners.

What do you think...will he throw a wittle tantrum and toss 98% of America under the bus if he doesn't get his way? Honestly...I don't really care. American voted for Democrats, let them enjoy the tax increases they bring. Maybe people will finally understand that elections have consequences.

So, where will you cut back to pay the extra ~$200 per month in taxes, brought to you courtesy of Obama?
You can't put this on Obama. Republicans will only have it their way, no compromise.
