Obama has forever stained whatever value this "prize" may have had up until he received it.
Now, it holds roughly the same prestige as an honorary degree in basket-weaving from the city college.
Um...no.
As I previously stated, Henry Kissinger winning it pretty much stained the prestige of the Peace Prize. Obama is just one of the most recent examples of people who shouldn't have won it.
I will never understand people that come onto a thread that they feel is an "old topic" and comment. Do you just do it to be able to say insulting things to people that you don't know to make yourself feel superior or what?
I support the President. And his being awarded the Nobel Prize puzzled me. I don't think he did anything, up until that point in time, to earn it. This not a knock on the President whose good work I appreciate. But fair is fair. Somehow, the Nobel committee lowered its standards. I suspect it was an award solely for recogntion of the first African-American to be elected to the office.
Him not being nearly as liberal as I hoped he'd be.
