A lot of women aren't into jocks, though. That's its own scene. There are a lot of women into regular guys, brainy guys, geeks of various sorts, etc. Naturally, celebrities of any kind are going to stand out, so you notice their activities. You don't notice all the quieter types, who are in the majority.

True, but in the short term, but you have to admit a good majority of women would flock to certain kinds of males if given the chance.
But what I'm saying is, in ape and presumably some primitive societies, the 'top 10%' of males still get 50% of females, and are naturally more likely to be promiscuous. Doesn't this tell you something? Monogamy and religion, and perhaps romanticism, has changed this to an extent but deep down in every women this instinct still beats strong.
I would say a majority of young women would go after a rockstar if given the chance. Look how much they go crazy over the likes of Justin Bieber.
Might be what my classmate is thinking, along with the status of dating a star basketball player. Unfortunately, some women are wrong and misguided, and I feel this case will be no different.

Nothing makes me respect a woman more than one who doesn't care about the allure of a man's status. They don't contribute to the double standards and sacrifice their morals and standards with someone of elevated status and become another number.
