"please try and keep track" isn't telling you to keep track, it simply means you are running around in circles for no reason....like a dog chasing your own tail.
Quite frankly I feel we need to move as far to the right as possible in order to avoid yet another "horrible" socialist dictatorship like hitler's.
So you want to move to what? No government or a fascist dictatorship? What is at the far right that you want to move to? Please explain what this political world would look like?

Limited government. Fascist dictatorships are for socialists.
One more time.......if the party in question advocates a "large, powerful, central government" it isn't a classical liberal (small limited federal government) party. Just which of these parties you've mentioned advocated for a "small, limited, federal government?"
deutsche zentrumspartei = did not advocate for a limited central government. It was a catholic party.
Deutschnationale Volkspartei, the German National People's Party(DNVP) = did not advocate for a limited central government. Nazi party. (sigh)
Dutch Party for Freedom = does not advocate for a limited central government. geert wilders party, a eurocentric party that's concerned with issues other than limited government. I'm surprised he's not dead yet.
The People of Freedom party = does not advocate for a limited central government. I have absolutely no idea why this party exists other than as a vehicle for berlusconi to get laid by underaged girls.
union for a popular movement = does not advocate for a limited central government. chirac's old party. they're french for god's sake. they couldn't function without an overly powerful central government.
dutch party for freedom = does not advocate for a limited central government. connected to wilders. interested in assimilation of islamics.
the golden dawn = does not advocate a limited central government. neo nazi party. anti immigrant party. why would anyone vote for these people?
Spain and Portugal = I was actually in spain when ol' franco was still around. dictatorships are not what small government proponents such as myself have in mind when we advocate for "small central governments." {sigh} ditto the portugese. {sigh} again.
During the 19th century people of german ancestry were commonly refered to as dutch. I don't know but I believe it has to do the german word "deutsche."
Strong or limited central government or not, that is not really an important question in most countries... Let alone a factor when deciding whether a government is right or left. Strong central governments can be progressive or conservative. The only difference is what the government tries to achieve with its power.

Trying to convince a number of american liberals that; racist individuals exist in all races and both parties, and big government proponents are not on the same side of the left/right continuum as those who believe in a limited government..........is difficult.

I don't know who these liberals are because this liberal has no problem understanding a single point that you've raised above. Perhaps if you had kept your premise as simple as it is above without trying to wander into broader more nebulous and errant arguments and an over reliance on cartoons and picture you could have resolved this problem earlier.
The far left can claim a lot of nutbag extremists.
As can the far right... I could list a few examples, but you'd probably just shrug them off as "exercising their free speech" or not being "real" conservatives.
Bottom line, extremism is dangerous from either side of the political fence - same goes for all religious extremists, including those from my own faith.

Haha... I know, right?? I haven't read much of this thread yet, but the statement to which you were replying was pretty darned obvious to me! Who has argued otherwise?

I'm not concerned with what's been happening in europe. Sorry, but europe's a "dead man walking." It's of little concern to me what forms of socialism they choose.

For the purposes of this thread it is.

Here, many/most "conservatives" want/prefer a small more efficient government in order to preserve individual liberties and foster economic growth. Like the founders I don't trust an overly powerful government. At the end of the day all powerful governments do is preserve their power. I want to be a citizen of a country not a subject of the state.
