Hollywood has always been notoriously homophobic. Where have you been?
Correct. It's real simple. It's called money. While Hollywood probably employs a large percentage of LGBs, they are probably in the background. As for major celebrities, they can't bank on them anymore when they have heartthrob status and then "come out."
Anybody remember the case in Canada about a year or two ago, where a Gay guy came on to a Straight guy in a bar and the Straight guy decked the Gay guy causing him to fall back and hit his head and suffer brain injuries? The straight guy got many years in prison for that. I guess in Canada, you don't have the right to fight back. I guess you are only allowed to say, "No, thank you."
I'm gay and even I don't think slapping someone on the face for trying to kiss you is "homophobic". I would slap or push away any random person kissing me on the face, regardless of their sex or gender! That's a total invasion of personal space, IMO.

lol... Uh, no. Man, talk about a nutty interpretation...
If a guy really thinks he should have a right to cause brain damage to someone who uninvitingly flirts with him, then the guy is truly unstable and probably needs to see a psychiatrist.

No. I am not saying a person should try to cause "brain damage" or seriously injure someone else for coming on to them, gay or not. But, if a guy came on to a girl in a bar, she might be expected to slap him. But guys usually don't slap; they punch. So, if now we are going to see more of guys coming on to guys, not knowing if they are straight or gay, what's gonna happen? If a guy responds like a girl to obnoxious advances, they probably aren't going to "slap", they are going to punch. Reflexive response. If the guy falls back and hits his head as happened in the story I referred to, well you end up with two perhaps unintentional lost lives.
Will Smith slapped a man for trying to kiss him on the mouth while in France.
It seems Hollywood would be the last place you would find Homophobia, especially regarding Obama's recent evololution on homosexuality.
Any thoughts?
A few weeks ago I wrote a blog entry supporting gay marriage. Nevertheless, I agree with a number of other posters; what I saw on the video was not homophobia. It was some guy acting inappropriately towards Will Smith and Smith responding. A lot of men would have clobbered that guy, and that wouldn't be homophobic behavior either.
