There's 4 men sitting there spewing their opinions on birth control, BC specifically, how immoral it was, how it was allowing people to do whatever they want sexually yadda yadda yadda.

These men make my ovaries shiver in fear, a bunch of crazy conservative bastards who don't care about womens right, who obviously forgot that here in American we have freedom of religion and that some of us are NOT religious, some of DO NOT believe in god and that some of don't want to be told what to do with our own bodies.

I am not religious, I am on birth control and I am sexually active and these men potentially getting into office scares the crap out of me.

As an American I believe I have the right to live religion free if I so choose, I have the right to use birth control and I have the right to not be told by a bunch of men what I can and can't do with my own body.

I actually had to stop watching because I got so pissed off.

But what is everyone's opinions on this years republican candidates and their bashing of birth control???

(*I know the real issue was Obama and making organizations offer birth control to their employees but they were talking about birth control being immoral and all this other crap.*)

I know if they got the chance they would make birth control illegal.
My state tried to pass a law that would make it illegal back in 2008. I nearly siht bricks.
Ron Paul is an OBGYN and knows more about women's health than you could possibly wrap your head around.

Women can have a chance to talk and you saw it when Fluke talked but having women there at that time would not have made any sense. Those men were talking about being mandated to do something that is against their conscience. Perhaps you won't understand it until you are mandated to do something that is against all you stand for. Make one group do something they cannot do and it is easier to make another group do something they cannot do.
No, it was some political debate and it was 4 of the potiental republican candidates, all rambling on about how they thought BC was IMMORAL.
Yes the main topic was about obama and his whole BC incident that had everyone outraged.

Why because I don't fall in line with chauvinistic men who think birth control is immoral and if they could would get rid of it all together?

Did I ever mention Ron Paul specifically? No I did not.

I pay for my birth control. I go to planned parenthood. My health insurance, which *I* pay for each month pays for my visits and it makes my birth control $10, which I pay for. So I pay for my birth control, I don't expect anyone to pay for it for me.

People are already paying enough in taxes, we don't need to add on to the burden. Pay for contraceptive devices yourself if you want to have sex so badly. I don't want us to turn into Europe where many things are taxed, "subsidized" and "free."
Dude, I'm not religious, I don't buy into this whole no sex before marriage bull.
Fine dude stay a virgin until you're in your mid 20's or later, have fun with your blue balls.
But even if I was married, at 22 years old, I still wouldn't want a baby right now, I want to live a life, travel see the world and just because you're married doesn't mean you want kids, marriage /= kids, some people like to be married for a few years before they start a family and tie down themselves and their finances to a kid.

I just because I am not married and I am having sex does not mean I am irresponsible. I am in a relationship, I use birth control, I am smart about it. I am no where close to getting married. Like hell would I go another 5+ years before having sex that's CRAZY TALK.

if you want to buy birth control to prevent unwanted pregnancy, that is fine by me, go out and buy the pill, a box of condoms, a diaphragm or what ever other birth control you choose to use. but do it with YOUR OWN MONEY, not mine.
No, they said immoral.
But simply having these men who think birth control is immoral ANYWHERE NEAR the white house scares the **** of out me.
I live in Colorado and in 2008 my state TRIED to pass a bill that would make birth control illegal. So it's not like people aren't trying. I voted HELL NO by the way.

I just wanted to know what people's opinions are on having someone in office who thinks birth control is immoral, in a country where their beliefs could possibly infringe upon those who aren't religious and don't have an issue with birth control.

I think we should keep all religion out of office, it has no place there, I don't want my country lead by some religious nut who thinks the way some of these men do.
Honestly if you have a penis you have no right to say anything about what women do with their bodies or spout out how immoral you think something is.

This is a free country and the last thing we need is some oppressive religious guys who could care less about womens rights and too much about what the bible says, when no one can even prove god is real.

So you're saying I don't have a right to free speech because I have a penis?

Umm, that's the whole point of birth control, don't want a baby, don't have one.

Practicing birth control is responsible. Leaving it up to god when you don't want a baby is not responsible

Sure you can talk all you want but when it comes to womens bodies you dont really have any right to say what they should and shouldnt do with it.

Im not solely on birth control to prevent pregnancy, i also take it to where i only have 3-4to periods a year, no man should be able to tell him that i have to bleed from my vagina 12 times a year, it also helps with my complexion...

No one should be able to tell me i cant do that..

Last i knew abortions were pretty pricy at planned parenthood and at planned parenthood its paid by the person getting it, they don't just hand out free abortions.

It is a 1st Amendment freedom of religion issue. No religious organization should be coerced in to being a partner in actions they regard as sinful.

No one is trying to ban birth control.
