It's tax cuts for everyone (everyone who pays taxes, that is); the wealthy pay more in taxes so they get more back (except when a Democrat is president)

I guess that upsets leftists! (Who think the wealthy should be punished.)

Personally, Bush has not made the right choices on a lot of matters that are of concerns to the American Public. However, personally, I feel that we really can't hate a man for having a difference in opinion and sticking to it. You may hate his policies and actions... but until he slaps you, in person, with a fish or calls you specifically by an un-called for name..... you shouldn't hate him.

He's sticking to what he believes... allbeit wrong in the eyes of the majority of America. Gotta give him at least SOME credit for that.
That's a bunch of crap! To be blunt about it. HE works for us, the American people and if he is doing HIS own cowboy thing then he really isn't doing anything for our benefit but his own "higher agenda" and screw the rest of us mentality. If that's your reason not to hate him then by all means have YOUR opinion on that matter. I think the majority of us reserves the right to have OUR difference of opinion about his policies and are sticking to them. So in conclusion, I HATE him!! Chew on that one friend!

Oh, and have a nice day! :-)

What does corruption have to do with tax cuts?
Or the fact that top 50% of wage earners pay 96.54% of the taxes?

I would love to see your factual data to back up those numbers...please englighten the forum...

If you don't think corruption exists or relates to all this money being made then you aren't very realistic about life are you?

The same give-me mentality, and you call shareholders greedy?

A quick Google located this [from 1996, so very dated -- especially the raw income numbers (jeez we're rich now!), but probably still proportionate]:

Wealthy Americans Deserve Real Tax Relief by David N. Mayer

"... the wealthy save the most from a lower tax rate because they pay the most in taxes. The wealthiest 5% of taxpayers now pay a majority of federal income taxes, and the top 25%—in 1996, those with incomes above $46,000—pay more than 80% of income taxes, according to the Internal Revenue Service. In contrast, those in the bottom 50%—with incomes below $23,000—pay a mere 4% of all federal income taxes. So of course the wealthy would get the most relief from a rate cut—and they should, because they pay a vastly disproportionate share."

There are plenty of taxes that are not "income taxes" that even those living on minimum wage pay.. such as sales tax, car excise tax, property tax, taxes on water, electricity and phone services etc., tolls, transfer tax. These are paid regardless of your income.
