"NOW" heavily addicted? Did you just return from Antarctica?

You really think the people now on unemployment or food stamps WANT that? THEY HAVE NO CHOICE, the jobs aren't THERE! Where have the "job creators" BEEN for the last 13 years? I'll tell you -- robbing this nation's economy BLIND. Millionaires don't create jobs -- people who WANT to be millionaires do, fueled by demand for their products/services by a public that can afford to BUY them. So what YOU call "normal" is pretty much "criminally dysfunctional".

BTW, the "condescension" is coming from the right, too -- people who blatantly lie daily and actually believe they're being accepted at face value. The very same ACA that Boehner is now decrying is the one he "got 98% of what I wanted". Ted Cruz stood out in the hall the other day, and ran down a long list of blatant, already-discredited lies about ACA, like he was privy to some special knowledge the "poor masses" couldn't fathom.

I guess maybe I might BE the only one who thinks it odd that Rupert Murdoch and Fox News JUMPED on the bandwagon first when SCOTUS ruled that LYING was protected free speech.

The worst economy since the great depression has only gotten worse under Obama.

Obama has to have something to run on, and giving yet another Mars speech, like he did for the SOTU, is not going to cut it.

What's a Mars speech? It's essentially "OMG, what have you people done here?? I just flew in from Mars, where I have been for the past 40 years, and I cannot believe how you earthlings have messed things up here. Who the hell has been in charge here??? Just let me tell you what you're doing wrong, and and enact my never-fail policies, and fix everything for you."
Okay...Romney...you just GOTTA roll with that "out of control spending" lie, don't you? It's STANDARD GOP BS, who spend JUST as much (just mostly @ the Pentagon), and have created MOST of the debt of the last 80 years.

I will call you back in time, to early '12, when Romney was cornered by a broadcast journalist after a "the economy was bad, and Obama made it worse" speech; he was SHOWN numbers that demonstrated the economy had NOT gotten worse, and -- ON CAMERA, I SAW IT -- said, "I never SAID it was worse."

Your candidate, not mine, pal. Get one that doesn't blatantly lie every other breath, and we might talk.

"Mars speech". . .LOL.

Do you think that when a Republican gets elected, then America will once again return to its core values?
If by "core values," you mean homophobia, xenophobia, policies that encourage raping the land, air, and water for short-term gains by multi-national corporations, climate change denial, inadequate public education and prohibitive college tuition unless your family is already wealthy, policies that let the poor starve, freeze, and die from easily treatable conditions, policies that sell out our blue-collar jobs to China and pink/white-collar jobs to India, lax oversight and regulation of the Wall Street casino (complete with multi-billion dollar bailouts when we notice they're about to go ****-up), unnecessary fearmongering, and horrific wars that funnel money to private war contractors, then yes, America will "return" to those values.

Myself, I'm an American with an apparently different set of core values.

uhm, we are being robbed blind that's where we are. So when you stop robbing us then there will be more jobs until then keep thinking you are right it and see where it gets you... no further than you are today.

Regardless of your core values, you probably noticed that US is not doing so well in the last years. The economy, unemployment... You probably heard something. A country with 47M people on food stamps?

We've got to tackle the debt problem meaningfully and significantly. The US government is not in control of it's money supply, it receives new money on loan (plus interest) from the Federal Reserve. Every new printed bill already has debt attached to it, and we add more debt by crediting more promises such as Social Security and other welfare programs.

I don't care who earns the office next term, they'll have to eventually either admit that America can no longer consume it's way out of debt or that we all have to give up "our fair share" to pay for Government credit card bills. This is true for every party with influence in DC, the only difference being that most of the mainstream media will be kinder to a left-leaning president than a right-leaning one. Personally, it'll make my life less depressing to have to hear less ad hominims against a president (whether left or right) for just being voted into office at the wrong time.

And for everyone supporting an easy Republican win next term: I'm sorry to burst your bubble, but you know that the Democrats, once discovering a few malpractice flaws within their own policies will only fight harder with their supporting news media outlets. Expect our Republican representatives to be flayed alive on TV this next election for just being Conservative.
You'll be hearing more duck analogies too, probably something about ducks drowning in tea...
