There is more to being president than being smart. Part of the job is to provide leadership...a very difficult thing even to define, let alone accomplish. A part of that is the ability to provide a direction, and to inspire people to do their best, to accomplish things they would not otherwise accomplish. That's what separates a successful football coach from a gym teacher.

Unfortunately, Carter was very unsuccessful as a leader. He did not inspire confidence, either domestically or internationally. He did not have a clear plan for the country, or if he did, he failed to present it. Reagan was the opposite...probably not as bright, but much better at leading and inspiring.

Bush...probably somewhere in between. His "soon the terrorists who knocked these buildings down will hear us" speach, made up on the spot, is probably the greatest, most inspirational moment in presidential history in the last 20 years. Yet he has had his moments of bumbling. Clinton, the ultimate politician, suffered similar failings as Carter, though not quite to the same level. Sadly, Obama does as well. He is one of the most de-motivating presidents I can recall.
Grant was supposed to have been the stupidest, but that may just have been because he was drunk all of the time.

Jimmy Carter...the worst President on that past 75 years.....until Obama came along and got him off the hook.

Gas Lines....SERIOUSLY JIMMY?? Iran hostages held for 444 days...SERIOUSLY JIMMY?? Castro cleaning out his prisons and sending them to the US with the 'boat people' and us taking them in with a smile on his face...SERIOUSLY JIMMY???? Economy in the tank and 9% unemployment...SERIOUSLY JIMMY???? (Sound familiar)

THOSE are the hallmarks of the Carter administration. And on the day Reagan took office....EVERYTHING got better. There was HOPE again...and we had a president who knew what it took to get us back on the right track...and DID IT. Just as we will see in the 2012 election when Obama is ousted after his 4 year debacle.

Sadly...history DOES repeat itself when we forget. This country doesn't need another Jimmy Carter, but we got one in 2008...and just as we did in 1980...it is time to once again time for the INTELLIGENT voters of this country to rise up and CORRECT that mistake. And let's not forget again what happens when we let progressives take the reins.

Call me a conspiracist, but it seems to me that the insiders tore the outsider to pieces.

And, please don't consider Bill Clinton an outsider. He was CIA, New World Order, from the time he received his Rhodes scholarship.

It was poor leadership. You can say how carter was so intelligent all you want. But a PRESIDENT needs to be a good leader. Carter was far from it. More of a laughing stock on the world stage. He was an embarrassment to his country...and continues to be whenever he has one of his outbursts.

Lesson to everyone: Don't ever ask Conservatives to actually Conserve. They freak.

Everything he said was true. It was one of the few totally honest things a President has said in the past 40-50 years. It was more upfront and real than Reagan ever was. Alot of people don't like that. The ruling class hate it. It's not good for business. They want "Yeah! Go! Indulge! Consume! Use! Its all good! Go buy something! Don't worry about the real problems! Look over here! You want this!". Carter was honest and truthful. That's not good in politics though...

How do you feel about Carter's banking deregulation?
