"A Native American group is denouncing a comment Kim Kardashian's mother made on national television as being "wrong and hurtful." The comment from Kardashian's mom, Kris Jenner, came on "Good Morning America" Thursday, when Jenner was asked if her daughter should return Kris Humphries' $2 million engagement ring after their 72-day marriage ended. Jenner responded with a laugh, saying: "Well, I hate an Indian giver. Don't you? It's a gift. Keep your gift." The National Congress of American Indians wasn't amused."

Everybody's a victim, everybody's being treated unfairly! OMG, someone's feelings got hurt!
The world just needs to grow up... this is standard American slang.
(Just found this funny! Not that the Kardashian trailer-trash crew is worth caring about or defending...)
I agree! It seems you can't say anything these days without "hurting someone's feelings." Damn I am so sick and tired of political correctness.
People need to grow up.

Native people need to read a bit more!
That phrase originated out of the propensity of the white man to "give" to the native, as in signing of treaties etc., and then "take" back from the native, as in reneging on the deals. As such; it's a slang derivative derogatory to the white man. NOT the other way around.
The persecution, murder, and displacement to concentration camps of Native Americans are as old as the hills as well.
The term "Indian Giver" should reference the U.S. govt. and its propensity to say one thing and do another, sign a treaty or other legal document and then violate the conditions that the government originally constructed and asked for. Most of white trash America is confused when they use this term
God Bless Amer....oh, wait. He wouldn't reward this behavior.

It's just a saying. Why are so many getting so bent out of shape and reading so much into it these days ?
Don't people have bigger issues to worry about than hearing "Indian giver" and getting offended when it wasn't even directed to you personally as a slur to your heritage ?
Are we getting that petty as a society ? Are we all turning into 5 year olds with "Mommy, he called me names" ?

Yeah, but come on. Don't let facts get in the way of another minority group raising hell for absolutely no other reason than to give their leaders a reason to exist and cause more trouble.

We are trying to teach tolerance and respect for those who have a different religion than Christianity, skin color other than white, political leaning other than Republican. The importance of speaking out is so racism and stereotyping will no longer be accepted as it once was.

All I can say to this is ROFL.
In context that was not a slur on Native Americans.
It's a common saying and everyone knows what it means.
People are going to say what they will say and there's nothing you can do about it. PC cannot be forced unless you punish people for talking.
What do you suggest so that "tolerance" can be mandated ..prison terms, death ? How far will go go to achieve your tolerant Utopia ?
