The kid is a nutcase by all indications. He thinks he's something he isnt. If his guardians arent going to actually help him function normally then he might as well go ahead and mutilate his mind (and body for that matter) with hormones. If he's already so disturbed that he thinks he's something he's not, he surely would never be able to keep a job and be a productive member of society anyway.
Thats like "helping"/enabling an anorexic person by taking them to weight watchers so they can continue to waste away and fueling their skewed perception of themselves.
There are plenty of trans people who are productive members of society.
The child is 11. The parents are delaying puberty to 14 or 15 yrs old until the child is old enough to decide. On the advice of specialists.
Why bother to comment when you haven't even read the article?
If you read the article it says he started wanting to be a girl at three and started the process at age 7, he wasn't old enough to make a decision like that period.

He might be one of them reinconsarnated kids.
When I was three, I knew exactly what I wanted out of life.

I've known little Tomboy girls who said they wish they were a boy when they were that age, and little boys wearing mommy's high heels.
I knew a girl whose father's name was Ted, and she demanded we stop calling her Britney, she used to say adamantly: "My name is Ted, and I'm a boy". No one decided she must know what is best, and started calling her Ted. She is a beautiful woman now, with a happy marriage and a baby girl of her own. God only knows what would have happened if her parents would have given in to this idiocy and started treating her like a boy and gave her hormone treatments.
File this one away with the very fashionable ADHD craze. Ritalin anyone?
Sure, you can find a biological reason for just about every human characteristic whether learned behavior is involved at any point or not. The question then becomes separating one from the other, but at this point, the APA is going on record as having no clue why one person is gay and another straight.
Children are born not knowing their place in the world and, while they seek this out, they are highly susceptible to the influence of their parents and even other kids whether this influence is intended or not. While I don't doubt their are instances of improper hormone levels present during certain pregnancies and at certain critical points within the gestation period which lead to developmental abnormalities, to conclude that irreversible changes should be made to the body of an eleven year old child based on less than conclusive evidence serves only the interest of those pushing the gay agenda and is clearly child abuse.
The born gay and gay gene arguments which received so much support from homosexuals and the left, have been all but dismissed.
There is no consensus among scientists about the exact reasons that an individual develops a heterosexual, bisexual, gay, or lesbian orientation. Although much research has examined the possible genetic, hormonal, developmental, social, and cultural influences on sexual orientation, no findings have emerged that permit scientists to conclude that sexual orientation is determined by any particular factor or factors.
No it doesn't, it says homosexuality is not caused by a single gene. It never says it's not hardwired.
