For me Jon Carry was born the day he told the botched joke about how dummies ended up in Iraq and that group of GIs made that big sign asking Jon Carry to please help them get out of Iraq. I have never failed to use their spelling since then. He brought it on himself and deserved it.

As for a coverup, the explanation given is perfectly logical. Obama improvised and the transcript was later updated to match the actual speech given. If you don't beleive this is hte most logical explanation, do you really think that anyone could have thought they would get away with or accomplish anything by editing the transcript at one media outlet for a speech given on national TV?
This kind of thing happens all the time on both sides so I guess it may have happened in this instance.

Let's face it folks---NO President in the history of thie country has been protected so much by the liberal media than Obama, and that's beyond debate.

Marv, you and I and a number of others here believe as you say, but there are many who stand with the double standard of the left on things like this one.

That is not true. Every Democrat President gets the same liberal media protection. Even they admit that Clinton would not have been elected President had it not been for them in 1992. They covered for Carter, LBJ, JFK, and they covered for FDR so much that the majority of the public was completely unaware of his polio until after his second term. Nor did media protectionism stop with FDR. Wilson, Cleveland, Polk, all the way back to Andrew Jackson received liberal media protection.

In the US mainstream media has always supported and covered up for Democrats, while opposing and exposing Republicans.

A gaffe Biden would be proud of, and would probably put the mainstream media into a celebratory circlejerk if it came out of Palin's mouth.

It's obvious Barry needs all the help he can get.
Affirmative action don't you know.

So, I've read thru the first page of comments and that's as far as I'm going. I will add a response though. I read the next day about the PBS mis-configuration.

It was explained to me that PBS received the transcript prior to the speech and would be fed 'as is' to TOTUS, the PuppetMaster. It was during the actual delivery that the Puppet ad-libbed, which produced the gaffe.

I'm going to stick with that understanding. Aside from that, I really could not care less about the gaffe (though I appreciate the thread), the speech or the Clown who can't read. And like most publicly funded organizations, its reliability is no greater than its least responsible participant.
