Well, he's the president while the economy is tanking, and has shown overall poor leadership, so no surprise. He's weak and foolish, but I don't think he's evil. And that alone puts my thoughts of him above about 70% of politicians.

The reality is, he's STILL polling ahead of Republicans, and really for Obama, that's all that matters to him right now. Approval ratings are horrible across the board and it's all going to come down to who is the best of a bad selection come November 2012.

dKos has an interesting thread on this. Lots of comments comparing obama to carter (mostly unfavorably) and little hope that a 2nd term would be any better...

If Gallup keeps downgrading Obama's approval ratings he might just send in his thugs to investigate them like he is doing to the S&P!

That's correct.
This shows Obama is a loser unto himself.

honestly, I think most people blame the current situation on republicans. First of all Obama inherited the mess Bush made. People don't realize how much Bush wreck this country. You can't fix that mess over night. Obama managed to stop the economic free fall and there was some improvement in the economy until the GOP took control of the house and stopped Obama dead in his tracks. Even mitch mcconnell said his goal was to make Obama a one termer which is what they are trying to do by stopping economic progress. Their political games cost the US. its credit rating. The GOP wants to make Obama a one termer even if their games hurt the economy. People know whats going on. But it doesn't matter how mad republicans are, Independents and a strong black turn out on election day will keep Obama in the White House. Obama still has strong support among independents and the black vote is crucial. Strong black turn out in 2008 led Obama to historic victories in Indiana, Virginia and North Carolina which are all deep red states.

Good point, we've all actually experienced his flaws in day to day life.

Obama stopped NOTHING.. The collapse ended well before Obama passed one bill into law, and nothing has improved since.

Furthermore, Congress writes bills and legislation, and the Congress was Democratically controlled, not GOP.

If most of the public blaims the GOP, then clearly most of the public isnt qualified to be voting.
