Extortionists, hypocrites, mudslingers, and absolutely terrible congress members, yes. Terrorists? Nah. Michelle Bachmann may be nutty, but she is no Timothy McVeigh. I think the term is imprecise and over the top.

And if you go down this mudslinging path, you end up wallowing with all the dittoheads and other pinheads on their turf. None of that appeals to the left or the center. Leave it to them, and they will be booted in 2012.
Why am I not surprised your'e from Oakland, Oregon

It was terrorism because they knew that the U.S. would suffer catastrophic economic consequences if the debt ceiling wasn't raised and they were trying to use this to coerce the U.S. Government into giving them what they want... essentially paying them a ransom.

By all accounts their acts of terror worked as the final debt deal was heavily tilted in their favor. That is why I find it a bit odd that people in the tea party would feel insulted when others compare them to terrorists. Sometimes you just have to call a spade a spade.
Oh...like the way Obamacare was pushed though......got it!!!!

The President had a super-majority in Congress elected by a majority of Americans who voted to pass the Health Care Reform law. Nothing wrong with that. Sounds like democracy to me.

Obama himself warned that Seniors wouldnt get their Social Security check, an outright lie. Its terror to warn that a downgrade in the credit rating was coming, which it did, but not terrorism scaring the seniors? You guys need to get a life.
The Tea people held the government hostage until the got their way...that is not even debatable, but it is no surprise that you defend the indefensible. Maybe you will get a life when you put down that party line that you are towing.

The problem with Obama is his not telling the Teanuts to go **** themselves!

Great post and spot on!

The Tea party is a repulsive branch of the GOP, no question. Terrorists to the core, I agree.

Since 1973 you've ran negative trade deficits with the exception of two years. The total of that has been approximately $8 trillion dollars by itself. And yes, there were trade deficits with Clinton every single year of his presidency.

The reason why it looks like your lifestyle is going to suck for forever is because that was the start of the globalization. Imagine that, the information age connecting a planet.

What that means is that your part to the economy will have to drop from $47,200/year to $11,200/year (2010 dollars). I'm sure you can imagine what that'll be like. It will span out long period but every year will get just a little worse. And the stock market will still do its normal up and downs.

I wish he would do that too. But he is too decent of a person to be dragged down to the wallow with the teapigs.

Every Democratic President elected since FDR has produced a balanced budget or a surplus. No Republican President elected has ever achieved that. America had a surplus when Clinton left office then Bush converted that into the massive debt that we are saddled with today. Republicans are just plain bad for the US economy.
