Destroying a way of life - I wonder if he would have the gall to say this out loud if he didn't own his own bar?

DUI laws were created because drunk driving DESTROYS PEOPLE'S LIVES as in KILL. What a maroon.

If your "way of life" is putting other people's life at risk, perhaps it's not worth preserving in the first place.

Whether you agree with him or not is irrelevant. In places like Montana where you have to drive everywhere, drinking and driving has almost become second nature to many. What do high school students do when they are at a party on an acreage 20 mins away from home? It's not like a metropolitan area where you can just call a cab and be on your way. As uncomfortable as it is, that's the way he was brought up... (I am against drinking and driving, but it's going to happen in places like Montana)

Not get themselves in the position in the first place. Trade favors as to who gets to be DD. Get a sober adult to pick them up. Make arrangements to crash where the party is, like I did back when I learned to drink.

This is a most imperfect world with many problems, but "I'm sh.tfaced and don't have a plan for getting home" tends to be a problem of one's own making. Which means it's not OK to endanger bystanders to resolve it.

well I dont drink and drive. but I live in a rural area so I also never go out and have even 1 beer anymore as the limits are so low I could loose my licence in a minor fenderbender and not be able to work anymore. The feds threatened my state by withholding road money if they didnt drop dui to .08 and dwi to .05 so here we are.The true drunks ruined it for everyone and the gov went too far as usual. so of course business gets hurt

There is a growing conservative movement that DUI laws are too strong and we should go back to the way it was. There was a thread in this forum about this a few months ago. Folks were coming out of the woodwork to defend drinking and driving.

These folks should have flashing, neon US flags in the rear window.

The guy is a bar owner. His profits trump stupid human life. Someone actually elected this guy?

We ought to make a separate highway for these folks to drive on. Darwin will take care of the rest. Maybe, even add new roads without the usual government-regulated traffic lights. Heck, they can even have their own road rules on these 'special' deregulated thoroughfares.

It's hard to believe that Nancy Pelosi isn't drunk all the time.
Biden? Probably sniffed glue for twenty years.
Reid? Just plain stupid.
Hillary? Almost bitchy enough to have broken the glass ceiling.
Barack Hussein? Brain Damage. Get's encouragement from Howard Dean.
