Oh for crap's sake. You have a better chance of being HIT BY FREAKIN' LIGHTNING than being killed by a terrorist attack. Sheep like you are why our civil rights are being eroded at an exponential rate.
They say being hit by lightening is a 1 in 300,000 chance and of course that is NON-deliberate. A deliberate quest of blowing up a plane from a madman who thinks hes serving Allah and getting a few dozen virgins as a reward...is enough to be very concerned about. Im sure all it takes is a short length stick of dynamite pushed up his anus as he smiles at Security and wishes them a very nice day before entering the plane. (I hope i didnt give the Terrorists any food for thought...) .

---civil rights----
Get real !
You make it sound like flying via airplane is a constitutional right
Don't like the rules all airline passengers must follow ?
Don't fly !
Let's look at a few more facts about the pat -down problem.
You are aware, aren't you, that there are also female suicidal bombers, ? Now, if I am not mistaken, females were endowed by their creator with certain expandable cavities. Unreachable by a pat-down. She could tote a heap of explosive in there. All a female would have to do is 1. refuse the scan. 2. after take off, go into the restroom. 3. remove exposives. 4. place exposives somewhere in the room. And set them off.
She would be in a quiet spot with little or no fear of being caught.
Somehow or other there seems to be more danger in someone's grandmother carrying explosives around in her sneakers.
You may not be stuck by lightning, but there's more of a chance of meeting head-on with a drunk driver on the freeway getting to the airport.
Janet Nepalitano ( head of Homeland Security) said NOTHING will change.
I dont fly so f them.
