The point is that it's not a wacko, left-wing conspiracy as many suppose. The arguments are so clear that even otherwise conservative Republicans agree.

Hey it was legal in Utah for a while. But they seemed to over looked that.

No, actually the 9th Circuit Court of appeals, then maybe the SCOTUS if it decides to take it. The Massachusetts case against DOMA may go to SCOTUS first. Judge Kennedy, the one who wrote the decision for the Colorado Prop 2 decision (pro-equality) will be the swing vote. Good Luck with that one. If we're lucky, scalia will croak within 2 years.

Glad to see that sanity has prevailed in California.

Sometimes the "will of the people" isn't all that.

So now what if John whats to join Ben and Jerry in their "marriage". Not allowing him to marry them as well would be infringing on his "civil rights" I take it, according to all the pro gray marriage people?

Outrageous.

This is liberal judicial activism at it's core.
No, It's a rational decision based on the writings of the US Constitution.

The 9th Cir. will uphold the district court, no doubt(they are pretty liberal)...and the SCOTUS will definitley take it just for the mere fact that it is a new point of law...

Well you're replying to me, so let me just say that I never said this is at all a left-wing conspiracy or anything close to that. Just that people should look at things more objectively and realize that not everything Bush did was bad. Huge efforts to combat AIDS. Appointees who are working to help gay people. Meanwhile a current President who has said he is not in favor of gay marriage continues to get a free pass with no criticism at all from the people he has not supported on the record. My comments on this board about President Obama have been very favorable, but the people who celebrate this today should know who has done right for them and who has not.
