Woah there. You claimed noone pays in as much as they take out. Many people die well before reaching anywhere neat a point where they've taken out as much as having put in.

But less than they would have if that money had been privately invested instead of confiscated by the government throughout their entire earning years. So in the time value of money (TVM) ... what you've said isn't true.

There are most definitely producers and parasites in our society. The fact that this hasn't been taken seriously is a chief reason why our country and many states are currently in financial difficulty.

Maybe when they first started [paying benefits], but it's nothing for them to be retired for 20, even 30, years these days. So, no, most do get more back out than they ever paid in.

"Back in 1940, I got a nickel an hour." How much you think that guy paid into Social Security?

Yes. I'm stunned that there are people who believe otherwise.

Let's ignore inflation adjustments for toy example:

Say I make 100k per year from age 27 to age 67, when I draw full social security benefits. I will have put in over 600k. If I then draw about 3500/per month from social security it will take me 171 months (over 14 years) to receive 600k back. That puts me at age 81 to break even, which is greater than the average lifespan of a male in the United States. Therefore odds are I will put in more than I get back.

It's not "messing" with you, it's proving you have flaws in your logic that cause you to make claims that are easily proven false.

Way to move the goal posts. Your claim of "noone" became "most" in the blink of an eye.

Only Deion Sanders had a smoother backpedal.

Are You a Producer or Parasite

Great to know absolutism is alive and well.

Are you black or white, left or right, capitalist or socialist, with us or against us, taste great or less filling, patriot or a traitor, good or evil, a believer or not?

I sometimes wonder if we are the only society on earth that openly and willing desires to condense down all the nuance and sophistication of complex themes in politics, economics, sociology, etc... down to just

[] yes [] no

0 and 1

or is this all the depth we are capable of?

Seems you, as well, have bought into a rigid all or nothing dichotomy. Isn't it obvious that there is a sliding scale in the producer/parasite debate?

Tn, sometimes I think people make things too complicated as witnessed in this thread. The question is are you a producer or a parasite and to me that simply means are you someone who has worked and paid your taxes or are you someone who sits on their ass collecting anything and everything you can get from the government.
