its called risk management.

risk, for risk sake, is never healthy.

I have said before, and still maintain that I can bet - and win - that I drive further out of my driveway, across PA and the USA than everyone else here. I learnt when young, pittsburghers do not drive. (I mean that figuratively but some can make argument for literally....)

the highlands is the country and raystown is an exotic vacation. many people here have never been REALLY outside of 152xx lifetime. I have. When you take something like the mall area and the expanded retail area, you see that there is a consistent pattern of problem and it is expanding with no bounds.

Note that this thread only works in pa in 2 places - philly and allegheny cty. why.

So where do you venture to, tough guy? Do you ever leave Lawrenceville or Shadyside?

They’re most likely in one of the neighborhoods they defend. I always find it funny how they think folks are scared to go to certain areas. Many simply don’t want to deal with riff-raff and want to see those areas cleaned up.

Of course. Risk Management. Everyone has their own levels of what frightens them. I'm agreeing with you. Best to stay away, that way you won't get hurt.

I doubt it. Living in the old Lawrenceville, when someone would say something like, "aren't you scared to live there?," my answer would be, "ahhh, it's not that bad." I'm sure that many of my neighbors would have replied with, "yeah, it #$%in' sucks." Accusing others of not being as brave as were would have just led to an embarrassing retort. People who've actually had to deal with regular crime and violence in their lives know that it isn't much fun.

I’d still wager on a less desirable area, They don’t like folks criticizing those areas and don’t want to admit those areas are as lousy as they are.
