Elgin - too bad that good architecture has succumbed to blight! I loved the last picture the best. Looking at some of them, I could have sworn they were taken in the not-so-good parts of the Los Angeles 'burbs or the Hartford, CT projects in the case of the homes with the bay/bow windows.
This is the school I went to years ago. It has been sitting empty for a long time now. The school system last held classes in it back in 1975, then we moved into the new middle school for the 1976 school year. There has been off and on attempts to do something with the building, but so far nothing has lasted more than a few months, then it is empty again. Nothing has been in it for about 15 years now. I thought the fresh snow on the trees this morning looked nice against the red brick.

Vila Rikla by Lake Bled in Slovenia. I was told that the owner fled to Australia to avoid prosecution, something to do with guns, so the villa's been left to rot
