Katie, maybe if you tried a different angle on your subject instead of just straight on. That way you wouldn't have had the parking lot or the signs in the pic either. And I agree that it's so small it's hard to see any detail.
Heres a pic from across the street...I think this is better but then you have the sign blockin the bank!!
What about from another angle? Also clone out the leaf and wires in photoshop, maybe you could even clone out the sign too. Did you like what I did with your first shot?
ILNC Yes I did like it but it looked tight...so I thought I would try getting farther away! Guess that did not work either!! I took 2 more but they came out dark even when I tried to work them with my computer program....Ill post them you be the judge!! I cant even get these 2 to enlarge...
I see 1 ear 2 eyes & nose....but I had to magnify to 200% to find it!!! Maybe you should have trimed him out. My 1st thought on your pic I want the little house on the side...you can have the big 1...!!!!
yeah, probably, but I had fun anyway.
It's actually one of my neighbor's houses, I asked his permission prior to taking it and posting it. The detail they put in to working on their house is amazing, they handcut all the shingles in order to have them fit properly in the pattern they wanted, and the owner made the stained glass window in front himself. Just beautiful. everytime I drive by it, I appreciate it even more.

Just getting those two posts together.
I think it's quite interesting to know the 'story' and be able to see the pic at the same time.
(And I like the dog! It was a 'where's waldo' moment for me!)
Katie, one of the things I have learned is that if you want to be a good photographer you have to get photoshop and learn it, it makes a world of difference in your pictures.

I found it!
